We definitely haven't seen the best of Anthony Joshua yet. It might be interesting to revisit this some day in the future, should AJ continue to progress.
Let's look at what we know for a fact: - Tyson had a better chin. Joshua has been rocked at British level. - Tyson had greater power. Tyson put people to sleep. Joshua's stoppages are nothing like as concussive. - Tyson is faster of hand and foot. - Tyson had far better pedigree. Learned his trade earlier and could throw every shot in the textbook perfectly. - A prime Tyson punched in combinations, and didn't just look for that one punch. People overlook this fact. There is also a crucial factor we cannot know at this stage (possibly never will): would Joshua be scared of Tyson on the night? It's very easy to say he wouldn't be. Fighters staring across at Tyson in the 80s will tell you that it's rather different in reality. My 2 cents is that if Dillian Whyte can wobble Joshua, then Tyson knocks him out. Simple. I used this same algorithm when picking the winner of Lewis v Grant. If Grant is getting dropped by Golota twice in round 1 then he absolutely will not last a round with Lennox Lewis. Grant shocked me and got into round 2, but the point still stands.
