Salido was coming back into the fight - people completely forget this as the main memory from the fight is that Mikey dropped Salido a lot (Salido is known for getting dropped a lot, but not hurt). Salido's a chronically slow starter but when he gets going, he's even capable of besting a prime, 126lb Juan Manuel Marquez for example (he won 5 of the last 6 rounds against him) - this is Salido's pattern.
The incompetent referee didn't see any of Salido's 40 low blows and excessive clinches in the final rounds vs Loma.
Mikey got lucky in that the ref saw the headbutt causing the broken nose of Mikey; Mikey just quit.

It was still decisive in favour of Mikey and Mikey looked good in the final round where the headbutt happened. It's a fight I want to see, there's no better way to describe Mikey than 'sharpshooter'.

nah maybe you didn't see the fight, The ref ruled it a headbutt so Garcia had the choice to retire, he did and therefore won, if it wasn't ruled a headbut he would have fought on and probably stopped salido, maybe garcia is just a better boxer than lomachenko he fought dirty vs garcia to but he wasn't able to close the distance or hit mikey as much as he did loma

and to answer the original question clearly, there's a better chance of hell freezing over than Salido ever beating mikey garcia

regardless of when it happens second pro fight first pro fight Mikey Garcia would always handle salido with ease he showed he's levels beyond salido

I saw the fight. Yes, exactly...the ref was competent enough to rule it a headbutt. Loma and Garcia have different styles, ThatsRight11. Loma hadn't even adjusted to pros yet. Someone like Kindelan would've got his Cuban glass shattered to pieces.

Well that was random didn't though lomachenko fight and beat russel soon after? if he hadn't adjusted to the pros how did he beat russel only a few months later? and i think if they fight mikey will outbox lomachenko

Because styles make fights + the Salido fight gave him the essential experience he needed and so he could have his pacing strategy down).

WSB isn't 12 rounds. The fact that they get paid which technically makes it pro doesn't mean anything in this context.

I have no idea how many AM fights Garcia has had and I'm not gonna bother looking it up. In general though I've seen this comparison many times so I'm going to go with a random number of 150 am fights as an average.

So now an 18-20 yo with 150 am or so fights going pro vs a 26 yo with 400 AM fights as well as WSB. The 18 year old's mind isn't as mature, less experience, body at 26 is far closer to it's prime usually 26-28 than an 18 year old who would most likely be still growing. So you tell me how are they comparable?

Had Loma turned pro earlier in his career say 18 to 20 years old, with less than 200 fights I assume, no WSB, if a 18 year old Loma was to turn pro and fight the 26 year old version of himself in both their first pro fights who do you think would win?

This exactly, they act like it's a novice pro in his second fight, but really lomachenko is more experienced with 1 pro fight than most guys 30-0 Salido just had the remedy

Lomachenko never fought for 12 rounds before the Salido fight. Most guys that are 30-0 fought several 12 rounds fights in their professional careers. Try to come up with a better comparison, Mike.

To be fair, Mikey doesn't have the amateur experience that Loma has, so to assume he'd be a seasoned fighter by his 2nd pro fight and ready to take on champions might be a bit too ambitious.

Loma's level of experience dwarfs that of Mikey's who was a pretty good amateur boxer in his own right (just not on the ATG level of Vasyl.) For that reason, I'd imagine Orlando would beat him. Salido is a durable, tough seasoned veteran that knows a lot of the tricks of the trade.
