Would modern Deontay Wilder be too small for the 80s/90s HW divison?

Yeah because louis was 200 at his peak.
So its as if an aging Wilder shows up at 230-something.
By the way you wont find me saying louis was too small. Afterall holyfield wasnt too small and they were about the same size, even if not naturally.

Ohhhhhhh rez you mislead us haha.....
I just looked up louis walcott 2 in google images and there is a frontal picture of joe louis with an open robe next to walcott after the fight and louis is nowhere near as in shape as you would have us believe. He had easily gained 8-10lbs of flab since his early-mid 20s.

Not a valid comparison to wilder who was leaner at 229 than louis was at 216, sorry.
Annd no i dont think louis, even at 205lbs would be too small to win a title in the 80s or 90s.
I would even back peak louis to beat a 1983-84 Larry Holmes, 1986 Witherspoon, Smith and Berbick also.

You mention a photo of Louis with 8lb of flab, don’t even post it, and call me misleading? Yeah ok kid.

Which photo? This is an internet forum by the way, where you can post links to media, such as photos and videos. You should know, you’ve done it.

Embarrassing? Like creating a joke account mocking a fighter, while having the logical and literary abilities of a crippled goat? Yeah ok kid.

Yeah, that number 3 part is where you done messed up. Because I literally never said that, or even insinuated it.

I also never mentioned that Louis and Wilder would have the same success because of their respective weights.

It’s probably just you overreacting emotionally with strawman arguments because you think one of your agendas are under attack. And rather than defending it with logic and reason, you’ve gotten all emotional and gas lighty.

    Cool stuff man.

Louis definitely has fat to lose compared to his peak. If you don't see it then there is no point in discussing this.
I again feel like your photo selection is misleading.

Wilder here is clearly leaner than Louis at the same weight.
And Wilder was just as lean at 229 vs Molina. I invite anyone to look at pictures of Wilder vs stiverne or Molina where he was 229
    https://www.google.at/search?q=wild..._AUIEigC&biw=598&bih=280#imgrc=els8u7Gsv2xJIM:

Wilder came in extra light and Louis was extra heavy. I just don't think that you're presenting intellectually honest evidence for your argument(which I actually agree with. Even in the 80s and 90s Louis would do great)

Tyson was 234.5 vs Lewis and still had abs and bulging muscles but we know for a fact he had 15lb extra flab on him so I don't think saying Louis at 216 had 8-10 extra lbs on him is wrong.

Is it possible that Wilder looked shredded at 230 because he was more focused on S&C at that point in his career?

Joshua looks as ripped at 117kg as he does at 111kg. But thats because he he originally gained that weight through strength training.

Louis’s upper limit in weight without fat may have been around 216lb. Wilders is higher.

Doesn’t change the point im trying to make here. I’m in no way saying or insinuating that Louis and Wilder are the same size. My whole point is that Louis fought capably at a weight identical to Wilders when Deontay dethroned King Kong Ortiz. Which provides additional context to what certain people can and cannot do based on how much they weigh. A topic of much contention and debate. What is intellectually dishonest about any of this? How is it more intellectually dishonest than posting a picture of a fit Louis sayin he has 10lb of flab?

Lol, but you’re contradicting yourself. On one hand, you’re using Tyson adding 15lb to say that you can grow with flab. But on the other hand you keep making this point that there is no difference in Wilders flab from 216 to 230. It depends on the person, and what they do in camp.

I didn't say he wasnt fit. I said he was carrying an extra 8-10lbs compared to his early to mid 20s and that's not an outrageous statement at all.

Ali had fights in the 70s where he was weighing in the mid to high 220s but didn't look fat. Wouldn't u agree that he was carrying extra weight even if he wasn't totally out of shape?

A guy whos 200 shredded Gaining 8-10lbs of fat will still look good at 208-210

And no nothing wrong with saying a 216lb guy can do great vs Ortiz size heavies.

Tyson did it. Holyfield did it.
    I agree with your argument.

I don't agree with putting Louis who topped out at 216 or thereabouts

Next to Wilder who could top out at 236 if he wanted to
And saying it's the same thing.

Obviously it does. But Wilder at an unusually Low weight and Louis at a high weight isn't the same.

I brought up Tyson to show that you can be overweight(in a boxing sense) and still not look like a couch potato.anf Louis was overweight vs walcott compared to his prime just like Tyson was and if that analogy doesn't prove Louis had some extra flab compared to his prime then idk what does.

And that's why comparing a 235lb Tyson vs Lewis to a 235lb Joshua from a few years ago and saying they're the same size would be nonsense

Are you going to compare 160lb Duran to 160lb RJJ next to prove Duran could win a HW belt(because rjj and duran weighed thesame at one point) and question anyone who dares to point out that Duran had some extra flab at 160 compared to his prime?

Hey man, Duran beat Jorge Castro, who beat Imamu Mayfield, who challenged Povetkin.
