Would modern Deontay Wilder be too small for the 80s/90s HW divison?

    Obviously he was carrying 8-10 lb extra. They weighed him on the scales.
    But you said it was 10lb of flab. That's the contention.

    As in they aren't inherently the same size?

    It's the same enough, where if there was a 216lb weight class, they could fight each other.
    And considering they both fought capably at that weight, it would be similar enough to say the least.

    It doesn't.
    You can add weight without adding extra flab.

    Wilder is a SHW don't let what he comes in on the scales fool you.. He is extremely lean and his frame could easily handle and extra 20 pounds of muscle.

    He is undersized in his limbs not his core and shoulders where it matters... One of the reasons why he is successful is because of his unique body make up..

    90% of those so called SWH's are only carrying extra fat anyway and if they got down to Wilder level of body fat they too would be weighing 200 odd pounds..

    You're the one with dozens of posts on the subject (said subject that you won't actually come out and identify, but play coy with) arguing with me, contro, and everybody who has 2c to say on it. I'd say that you're the emotional one who needs a big mug of chamomile (and probably a valium to go with it) in order to calm down.

    In other news, I think Marvin Hagler was really good! Have you heard of him?? You should find some of his fights on youtube!!!!

    I think it's fairly obvious size matters. But you're welcome to your alternate universe theories.

    I met this crazy guy online that doesn't seem to think size matters in boxing. He's loopy but you may have something in common?

    Wilder is big enough for anyone ,the question is ,is he good enough? He doesn't seem to have made the improvement one would have expected after 40 fights but gets by on his "get out of jail power".Of course, by and large he is fighting second and third string guys which will prolong his shelf life but what is he learning?

    IMO, still enough to KO the Bodybuilder, I guess when they eventually fight we find out who is right or wrong.
