Would it be Jones just dancing around peppering Carlos all night long?

Prime Roy...over 12...could beat Monzon..I say could, I would not be confidant and I would defo go with Carlos over 15.

Stylistically Roy presents a problem to anyone at that weight.

You are right about that.....they all look about the same "at the end of the line"......Louis, Oscar, Dempsey, Jack Johnson, & Roy, etc.

No, if it was going to be "uncompetitive" it would be more likely because Monzon neutralized Roy's speed right from the start (like he did in both fights with Benvenuti) and shut him down the whole fight, for however long it went.

More likely it would probably be competitive early, but Monzon would gradually shut Roy down as the fight went and then probably stop him late.

Roy by UD. Monzon at times is overrated.

i agree i think he'd be far too robotic for RJ .. .although i think he'd whoop most other middle weights

Completely depends on whether it's a 12 or 15 round fight, giving Monzon the ability to work.

How much the ref allows them to clinch and or be rough is going to help Monzon as well. If Monzon isn't allowed to assert himself on Jones in that sense, with clinches being broken up immediately...

I'd be more inclined to think Roy was the overrated one, at least as far as 160 is concerned. As a middleweight, he never fought any of the belt holders and probably hadn't even reached his peak yet (except perhaps just before he moved up, when he fought Tate).

Monzon was great but Jones would've boxed circles around him. Roy by comfortable UD.

Roy is a handful for anyone in his prime. I think he edges a decision in a fairly boring fight.
