would of been great. it is one of those fights where brits all say calz would of won and americans all say ward would of won. truth is it would of been impossible to call and who ever would of won would not be a shocker.sure would of been a hell of a fight though. your thoughts on the style clash and whether you think it would of been good, and i am interested in who you think might have won too?
Would have been en epic snoozefest. Two of the most unexciting top fighters across all weight classes.
All you Slappy White fans get out your paper and pencils and write Joe a letter telling him how sad you are to have to bite off some glory for him using BHOP wins as hype for Joe. Tell him to put down the pipe, get his Pillsbury doughboy ass into the gym, and get ready for a 2012 comeback to make up for those 36 fights he had against bums. Tell him although you were pleased at first following those fights, when you sobered up and saw the tapes you were like, WTF, we're been hoodwinked, and now demand reparation. For those of you Brits/Welsh who can't write, have an indian friend take dictation, and forward the letter to Joe's father, who will read it to him. If enough of your letters reach him, and he's not too consumed hitting the pipe and sheep, hopefully he'll be in shape to meet Ward in the 2013 time frame.
calz has retired,he wont come back now.he would not get back to his peek anyhow. p.s. and i can tell by the way you like to slag people out on here who are just asking a decent question that you are one of those sad people who in reality would be scared of his own shadow and feels he can hide behind his computer and talk tough.
For the idiots who think Slappy won't be making a comeback effort in the next year or two, just look at the price of cocaine, champagne, and hookers. Joe is probably in the gym right now slapping the bag with a stem in him mouth.
I've actually been thinking about this matchup since Ward v Kessler...and yes,as a Scotsman ( thats in that silly island that The_President calls England) i think Ward would cause Joe more problems than he had been dealt before... but. Joe probably had a different gear (and experience) to pull out a narrow victory. Prime Calzaghe + 10 years experience + adaptibilty >>> Ward of today = The President ( ****ing idiot)
calzaghe, when he had good hands, would of ripped off wards head. calzaghe is a much better fighter... he is now, and he will always be. are you still sucking that purple head, president? good boy!
:yep Whose this ****ing arsehole? funny guy...I'm not on here much, is he the forum troll/clown. Seems everyone just mocks the thick curnt.
Don't worry, they're just drunken English Calzaghe fans, and as you, Frank Warden (and everyone else) know, those pikers will fall for anything. :yep Slappy is probably sitting at home reading the news and thinking to himself, if that Mayweather is getting $40M a fight, I can at least make a few Quid. :yep
I think it would have been a good fight, Calzaghe's volume and movement was always fun to watch, Ward not so much but I do respect the talent, the guy is very talented and obviously the goods. I would take Calzaghe by UD in an interesting fight...
