would pac-mayweather be bigger than mayweather-hatton?

You have to wonder how Jackdoyle made his way to this forum if he honestly doesn't know the answer to that question.

Equivalent would be someone going to a yankee's forum and asking if A-Rod is a better clutch hitter than Mickey Mantle.

Mayweather/Hatton was front and back page news here for almost two weeks leading up to the fight. It was covered on TV every day, even on the main news. Gordon Brown and other massively influencial people recorded support messages. The PPV numbers were great but didn't show that ever pub nationwide showed the fight live.

It was huge. Pacquiao/Mayweather will transcend boxing here but Mayweather/Hatton transcended sport.

 

Believe me, if Hatton vs Mayweather made back and front pages on regular newspapers, then Pac vs Mayweather will be hyped on the cover of porn magazines.

When Hatton fought Mayweather, Mayweather wasnt as big in Britain as he is now. That was his coming out party to the UK. With Pac & Mayweather, both are very well known in the UK and I have no doubt it will be on every sports magazine and paper leading up to the fight.

Its a historial fight, a big event, Britain loves big events. I can see it filling up Wembley easy or possibly even breaking the 1mil ppv record Hatton-PBF set here in the UK.

it could potentially be the biggest fight in history but boxing is a casual sport in uk, it wont be big as hatton vs mayweather in the uk because it doesnt involve a british fighter.
