A lot of hate for Valero on these boards, and though he never quite took the step up to fighting the very best in class (as he surely would have done had circumstances been different), i think he had enough skills and power to give Pac a good fight.

I'm not saying he would have won, but it could have been a war. Don't you think?

It would've been Hatton vs. Pac all over again.

One of those great 1-sided beatdowns.

Pacquiao is far, far superior, but it would be a good fight.

It had potential...just like Pac vs. Cotto and Pac vs. Hatton, but in the end, it would be a one sided beatdown over the course of 3 rounds tops.

Valero looked every bit like the Pac of a few years back, I thought he's going places after his total domination in his last fight. It'd have been a big showdown between him and Pac and a lot more competitive than most would expect. Edwin looked really, really good in Morales and Barrera sparring years back, but somehow it took ages to actually look good in an actual fight, maybe the pressure or the phycho mentality to rip his opponent apart, but got rid of most of his bad habits in the DeMarco fight. What a sad way to end a fast rising career.

    Pac Tko3 Valero.

It would be competitive until back starts landing 4/5 punch flurries a few times in a row around the middle of the second.

Valero was a massive loss to boxing.

A boxer who was completely natural, basicly trained himself. Was a very powerful brawler with skills. He looked amazing in his last fight. He was already a two time champion. He had guts. He would fight anyone.

He also had flaws, he cut easilly, but would find a way to will.

I honestly believe he would have been the next superstar.

    Big loss to Boxing,

Couldn't have said it better. Valero going off the rails has deprived us of the following:

    - Valero vs Pacqiuao
    - Valero vs JMM
    - Valero vs Katsidis
    - Valero vs the 140 lot (Bradley, Khan, Maidana, Alexander)

After he demolished DeMarco, I was so looking forward to the above possibilities.

a good fight means a pac-jmm type of fight? or a good fight like a pac-cotto/hatton fight?

It would be a great fight, but he would never KO Valero in the 1st round!
