Would past fighters be considered journeymen under today's boxing standards?

    Jessie Ferguson would have remained a journeyman in pretty much any era, but would occasionally pull off an upset over an unsuspecting top rater here and there.

    Not sure how that rating was justified.. He lost to fringe Martin in 1969 and the only fighters he had beaten in years were Chuck Wepner, Sonny Moore, George Johnson, Amos Lincoln and Billy Joiner - All mediocrities. I also noticed that Urtain, Garcia and an old Cooper made the 1970 top 10.. Must have been a hell of a weak year.

    You may well be right , never the less------.




    Garcia beat Davila,Spencer ,and Norton in1970.
    Cooper had not lost a fight in 4 years and was the Euro and British Champ, whatever store you put in that.
