Calzaghe would always have battered Pavlik.

 Is this a question to everyone in general or just Pavlik fans? The only people on this board who seemed to think Pavlik would still win prior to the fight last night were Pavlik fans. Joe Calzaghe by domination.

Calzaghe would humiliate Pavlik. And he would have when Pavlik was still undefeated.

Unlikely. But the unfortunate fact is Calzaghe didn't take the fight to prove it where it matters. It's not as if his record couldn't have done with Pavliks name on it.

    :good

Joe could hang up his coke bag, done a pair of gloves, humiliate Pavlik and still have enough energy to dance terribly and shag a sexy Ruskie dancer!!

Calzaghe at his best would have thoroughly embarrassed Pavlik!! Think Lacey, only worse, much worse!!

Hindsight being 20/20, it's pretty apparent that Pavlik was not one of the better titleholders at 160. Calzaghe certainly would have beat Kelly, much like Joe beat Lacy and Kessler. That being said, Pavlik is still a world class middleweight, only 28, and can still improve. But he'll never live up to the expectations that originated after he kayoed Miranda and Taylor.

It's a big regret for me that this didn't happen. If he had taken Pavlik instead of RJJ his recored would have looked better but money talks!!!

Whoever said he would beat calzaghe in the first place doesn't know what they were talking about.

    Memo to above poster:

If you are going to get rattled by a fellow poster, try asking a sensible question, and not ****ing abject nonsense!! You may find people start to take you seriously on here!

You are either trolling or you know ****-all about boxing, either way you are yet another classic example of why this once great site is now a laughing stock!!

If the win over Lacy has been discredited and downgraded to where it practically means little why would Pav be any different.

Trust me if Joe had beaten Pav after last night the win would be viewed no better than that of Manfredo by people who like to put Joe down.

Pavlik doesn't add **** to Calzaghes record, unless he picks himself up and goes on a great winning streak, which isn't going to happen.

Lacy was a title holder at 168. Pavlik was the undisputed middleweight champion having beaten the previous undfeated champ in Taylor who ended Hopkins run. Had Calzaghe of taken the fight when KP was still undefeated, and Lacy'd him, then it'd mean quite a bit more than the Lacy win. I stand by my claim that the fight would of happened had Pavlik beaten Hopkins, but we all know what happened there.

I would rather see Bute vs Calzaghe. At least Bute would be a much better fight for him.
