times changes and styles change but this fight with the right promotion and build up (pending cotto beat margarito & oscar) would be capable of bringing it back to the throw back days... atleast the hype... im not even talking about the actual outcome of the fight .. stylistically it could make for an amazing fight but we all know floyd would make it a boxing match as he always does.....

at the end of the day we could have had

    2 undefeated fighters
    1 black
    1 peurto rican
1 the top fighter of our time
1 the foil to the top fighter of our time
    1 is previous p4p #1
1 is current p4p #2 (cotto was #3 at the time he fought margo .. would have been #2 over calz if he beat margarito & oscar)
in one of the best cities in the world
on one of the biggest day in the united states of america
in the new yankee stadium which has not yet been marked by a big event ( would be a historic event based on that
    24-7 episodes
the boxing community with a strong belief that cotto might actually be capable of pulling it off....
a city that has High Peurto Rican population & support
in a city with a high black population

EVERYTHING WOULD BE THERE to create a historic event.... those of you who disagree are either

    - not creative enough to see the light
    - floyd haters
    - cotto doubters
    - fickle
    - a burt sugar (stuck in the past)

    im a respected poster...

im not to worried about someone who thinks lord finesse is a better overall artist than tupac shakur

You know what's sad?? By the way, I love the picture and that's how I envisioned as well... What's sad to me is that Margo came in, handled his business, won the fight and he doesn't get to ride the same wave as Cotto was supposed to.

If Cotto comes back and wins against Margo, I wouldn't be sure if the same wave will be there as it just to.

cotto wouldn't have been p4p #2 for beating margo who wasn't even in the top 25 p4p when he fought him.

    cmon now....

cotto was already p4p#3 on the majority of p4p charts

so your trying to tell me win's over magartio & oscar wouldnt make him p4p #2 when the p4p charts are made by people with boxing minds?

the people who are in control of p4p charts would have made cotto p4p #2 anyways just to lure floyd

yes... unless Cotto comes back as a wild animal, destroys Margo, Berto and Clottley (which is a very hard task to start with) in a timely matter I don't think we can create enough presure for Floyd to come back.

Correct.:good This fight would be HUGE bro. Look at the atmosphere when Cotto fights at the Garden...it's electric, now times that by at least 10. No doubt in my mind every seat would be filled and thats what at least 40 or 50 THOUSAND PEOPLE(mostly crazy ricans). Floyd would sure as hell have some support too but nothing like what Cotto would, but I don't think that would bother Floyd one bit in fact he would probably like it. I mean outdoors, 4th of July, Yankee Stadium, 2 great fighters, only one winner.... You CANNOT beat that bro.

thank you and this is a new yorker speaking...

the fact alone that coto would get 40 - 50 k in puerto rican support would mean that there would be opposition obvoiusly which would primarily be black people but as long as they had seats that were like 20 $ a piece...

all of new york would be in that piece

PBF would box Cotto's ears off. I respect Miguel but we are not talking about the same class of fighter.
