haha what are you talking about....

its not simply just because of floyd...

honestly cotto would probably motor the fight because of the puerto rican support but then black people would feel a responsibility to go to oppose the puerto ricans

Cotto has fans, but could they fill up yankee stadium? :think
I'm not even sure DLH - PBF could so.. having a very hard time seeing how Floyd vs. Cotto could.

cuase look you have to put everything into perspective
cotto can sell out msg twice... which means he has HEAVY PR SUPPORT
cotto coming off of margarito & oscar de la hoya wins would mean a couple of things.....

    Cotto is #2 p4p officially
    Cotto is clearly #1 welterweight
Cotto is Officially adorned by the boxing mainstream

    Why?

Cotto was already #3 p4p so those wins would be enough to boost him to #2
    the welterweight comment is obvious
And anyone who fights oscar becomes a mainstream fighter
its almost like a trial & if you can beat him you become good in the main stream

so therefor Cotto becomes the new PR poster boy.... forget about tito ... cotto becomes a classic Peurto rican fighter

so putting cotto in new york city infront of all the puerto rican's is feasable

then the belief from not only the puerto rican faithful but also the boxing community prior to margarito truly believed that cotto would beat floyd... even me being a big floyd fan i still think cotto or paul gives floyd the hardest time but paul is nowhere as big as cotto.....

then you have their 2 undefeated records on the line
the first major event of the New & Improved yankee stadium

so long as they make affordable tickets in the stadium.. which is realistic since the arena seats probably atleast 80k

20 dollar seats to 4 digit seats would be realistic...

    you still cant see it?

it would easily out do floyd vs oscar in any arena

Being from New York, I think it could certainly sell out. I know the Puerto Rican contingent would be there as long as the ticket prices weren't outta control. Plus being from the inner-city myself I know for a fact Floyd has plenty of fans in NY.

if the cheapest tickets were 20 dollars there no doubt it would get close to selling out

the new yankee stadium maximum capacity is 60k
madison square garden capacity is 20k

cotto sold out msg twice to way lesser fighters than floyd mayweather
with fights that are way less hyped than a floyd bout would be

msg were obviously way more expensive than yankee stadium tickets

im 95% sure it would sell out

Forget if Cotto had beaten Margo, I'm confident this fight could sellout tomorrow.

If Pac. beats Hatton 1st, PBF vs. Pac. would be a bigger fight, and there is also a reality of this one happening!

lmaooo word.. it would definitely be a hot ticket but not as hot as if cotto beat marg & oscar

cotto's name is kind of tarnished.... he can regain the steam if he comes back and beats margarito in impressive fashion and maybe comes back and beats ...

say a paul williams or something like that

if he beats margarito emphatically & beats williams he would regain p4p #3 position and can do all that before or a little bit after floyd fights manny (hypothetically)
the fight might have a chance of coming off

i purposely over exagerated... biggest fight in the past 30 years tho.... no arguing that

ehh maybe... pacman has no real fan base in america. i think cotto has a bigger fan base...

The fight was never going to happen nor will it ever, floyd was not going to fight Cotto if Cotto beat Margarito, he was too busy making excuses like Won't do business with Bob Arum again, Cotto is a punching bag and knows he can't beat me, Cotto isn't an entrepreneur like me. Cotto and Arum wanted floyd after beating Mosley but floyd avoided any discussions. We know why.

i don't think i saw cotto on barely any p4p lists at 3, he would have been very lucky to be top 5.

    :D

I hear ya wwm! I mean I know you are excited about that matchup, I would be too if it happened.

But biggest fight ever? No chance. Still, it would be a helluva fight and the build-up would be huge no doubt. :good
