There aren't many heavies I'd favor to beat Lewis, but I think Frazier is one of them. He was quite good at slipping the jab (Lewis's favorite tool) to get in up close and swarm the heck out of the other guy. I think he'd take Lewis down at some point especially given his chin isn't the greatest whereas Fraziers chin was good enough to withstand numerous hits from Foreman-tier guys.

What other punchers on a par with Foreman did Frazier face?
Frazier was stopped in his two tries at Foreman, his heart made him keep getting up ,but that's not withstanding his power, imo it's trying to walk through it and eventually failing.
Lewis had an excellent uppercut, once Joe gets past the jab he is going to run into that.
I see a mid to late rounds stoppage win for Lewis.

@mcvey and @Mendoza I’m gonna need a compulsory discussion about Vitali being inferior to Jack Johnson.

I love Joe Frazier. I see him grinding a lot of big guys down.
But Lennox,, no I don't see him doing that.
Lewis could hang tough and a smaller man would take so much punishment off of him.
I'm seeing Joe battered and bleeding, and stopped in 10.

Lewis stops Frazier unless Lewis gets overconfident. He is much bigger and Frazier didn't face many hard punchers and when he did he was hurt (Bonavena and Foreman)

Fascinating one to think over. It all depends upon how Lennox elects to fight Joe in my opinion. Lewis needs to come out blasting a la Donovan 'Razor' Ruddock fight and not giving the slow staring Frazier a chance to get set. Lennox could blast with both hands and it's quite feasible that he stops Frazier by the time the third or fourth round is out. Joe's best chance is to somehow avoid most Lennox' big power shots for the first half of the bout and hope to overcome Lewis by his constant pressure late in the bout. But that would be a big ask.

Lennox stops a brave Joe by the fifth round at the latest.

Both guys in my Top 10 all time heavies.

I see it this way was well. Norton the say didn't match up with punchers ( true ) but neither did Frazier, and this is after carefully watching the videos. Lewis is just not puncher but one with great range and a top uppercut and inside game. He could clinch pretty well too and manhandle Frazier. This spells doom for Frazier outside of the punchers chance, which Lewis also has. If we go by a points match I have a tough time picking Frazier too. All Lewis has to worry about is a short left hook. Lewis is an excellent boxer and smart in the ring in terms of tactics.

No, Lennox would win an extremely wide decision. He would take away Frazier's hook and simply box and move on the outside.

Even though Frazier is stories above Rahman in class and ability,Lennox only incurred his two losses - in his first fights with Oliver McCall and Rahman - when he came in complacent and careless. And as we know he respected both in the rematches and look what happened in the second Rahman fight in particular. Lennox would not be complacent against Smokin' Joe.

Lewis tended to be aggressive against big men. Against the small more aggressive type of fighter, Lewis fought more on the cautious side.

Frazier is, IMHO, doomed against Lewis. Lennox is one of the hardest hitters I've seen at heavyweight and he had good accuracy and timing. A Steward version of Lewis would know to tie up Frazier on the inside. I think Frazier's best chance is to catch a version of Lewis that was under trained or complacent and gut out a win over that version. Possibly the Levi Billups Lewis would be beatable by Frazier. But best for best - no.
