BTW I remember having a large and ornery discussion about whether Marciano could beat any version of Lewis and I thought he might (be able to) beat the Billups version too. I rate Marciano > Frazier.

I also agree w the general consensus that a 97-99 Lewis would b at his sharpest tho like u said he would not take Frazier lightly. He would bring out the best of Lewis but that big right hand from Lewis is still there regardless. As a "super heavyweight", I don't think I've seen a boxer more skilled than Lewis. No version of him would b a tall, bumbling limited fighter waiting to b chopped down like a tree like many fighters that size can b.

Glad to see you back, mate. Mendoza is also in here now, so I'm sure we will have some Clash of the Titans type discussions soon.

Well Lewis did beat Tua very easily who had a dangerous left hook like Frazier, although Frazier is more dynamic with his head movement and has better workrate than Tua.

Lewis was stopped twice by right hands a weapon that Frazier wasn't known for, Lewis is also a hard hitter than Ali and has a very good uppercut which is a good weapon vs smaller Frazier. Overall i think Lewis's height, reach, size, would be too much for Frazier to overcome.

Lewis would never **** around against Frazier like that. He'd be far more cautious.

I don't think it's a given that Frazier beats the version of Mercer that Lewis faced.

That's it. Lennox took Rahman lightly, as Louis did against Max.
He won't do that against a man like Frazier

I always have to give an ATG a “ chance” against another ATG. But I would favor Lennox Lewis. Frazier would definitely be game though and an upset isn’t impossible.

Frazier was steered clear of what I would call big punchers until he met a green Foreman who won a Gold Medal but as a Pro fought mainly cannon fodder til the Frazier fight and it ended up badly twice for Frazier................Lewis's punching ability are similar to Foreman but he is way more accurate................despite all the bobbing and weaving Frazier was tagged a lot coming in................it takes Lewis maybe a round or two longer than Foreman but Frazier will be stopped.

You simply can't walk into that size, strength and power, he'd wear himself down and Lewis would wear him down too and Frazier would be stopped

The first Bonavena fight was when he was still green and he handled him easily in the rematch, while he wasn’t motivated and past his best against Foreman. Not saying he would have won but the best version of Frazier is a different animal altogether.

A very thought out and astute breakdown of a intriguing fight, I bow to no one in my admiration of Frazier, he had an indomitable to win, coupled with courage that knew no bounds, he set the pulse racing, when he rubbed his boxing boots in resin, you knew all out action was about to be unleashed, that cannot be said of some other greats, Ali and Johnson are two that spring to mind, he asked no quarter and sought none, unfortunately all that said, I cant see him having the best of a prime, motivated, Lewis, like some posters above, I would fancy a bruised and blooded Frazier ( who maybe arose from KDs ) to be rescued by the ref around the mid way mark , but the victor would known he had been in a fight, a very tough fight.
    stay safe buddy.
