Would Pirog B Martinez's most dangerous opponent?

Guys with good upper body movement don't need to be able to fight moving backwards...

 

Pirog is a solid fighter and would give Martinez trouble but I think Martinez wins a UD here. Pirog would benefit from facing another good middleweight or two before facing Martinez he could use the experience and exposure. Martinez is a huge jump from guys like Jacobs and Jantuah.

 

Jantuah and Jacobs both backed Pirog up in spots, and when they backed him up they hit him rather easily. Jacobs' trainer even told Danny to quit screwing around, and put some pressure on Pirog because, "he can't fight going back."

It may be true that Pavlik is no longer a "good pressure fighter." That remains to be seen. However, it is also true that a good pressure fighter with a good chin would beat 7 shades of **** out of Pirog.

 

not yet!!! Pirog needs to beat maybe 2 more high profile opponents. Let's make this a superfight. HBO need to take their cameras and do this in Argentina!!

 

This. Against Melis and Jantuah he averaged 95 and 101 puncher per round. that's his norm.

In comparison to Martinez i certianly agree. In general though i don't think so and he has great timing and counterpunching which can make a handspeed discrepancy a non issue.

agree. He's also very good with his footwork, pivots and moving away laterally.

 

Martinez vs Pirog would be a good fight.

 

Good competitive fight. Tough to choose.
