Would Povetkin really stand a chance vs Fury?

I wouldn't write Povetkin off against anyone, but against Fury I just don't see what he'd do. I almost don't even want to see it because I wouldn't want my beloved POV to get pimp slapped.

Fury has a massive height advantage, reach advantage and speed advantage. He also proved he has the power to hurt fighters.

The only think I see Povetkin being able to do is to eat the jab and try to prey on a lapse in concentration from Fury and KO him at the right moment. But with Fury having a chin from the gods and amazing head movement, I don't see it.

Like you said, it would most likely need to come from a 5 second window. It's highly unlikely Alexander Povetkin would be able to win rounds - a near impossibility.

You'd be foolish to completely write him off, but I wouldn't give him more than a 20% chance. I believe Dillian Whyte was too lackadaisical and relaxed following the previous round - and he got caught. I think overconfidence is the only vulnerability that could be exploited.

Of course he'd stand a chance, just not a very good one.

The way I see it, if Wallin had some success against Fury then Povetkin certainly could - but i'd expect Fury to keep it long and cruise to a UD.

He would need a Hail Mary alike Saturday imo. Cant see how he outboxes or beats up Fury tbh so think thats his best shot at winning.

Fury got dropped hard by Pajkic and USS, with neither man's power coming even remotely close to Povetkin's.
Before his last fight he was almost written off after the Wallin fight too.

Yes, Povetkin has a chance. He probably gets outpointed or stopped late, but he does have a chance.

Wow, people seem to be forgetting how shot pov was looking in there, how do you think he's going to look in 6 months, a year.....

He's done for gawd sake lol.

You're confusing things here with him beating an average fighter in dillian.

You'd have to favour Fury. Povetkin is on borrowed time, let's be honest. It's amazing that he's doing what he is doing at his age.

Does he have a chance? Sure. That chance becomes bigger if Fury trains in a pie shop. But I'd not bet on it.

    No.

    He barely handled hughie.

Tyson could just clinch him for 6 rounds and Povetkin would fall over.

Now that Fury has an invincible aura around him even Povetkin would be in awe just to share a ring with him,
