That's is true, actually...Corrie Sanders was probably one of the most ducked fighters in the late 90's. Did anyone know that Lennox Lewis never fought a southpaw in his entire professional career...he wanted nothing to do with the Sniper...who would though?...that guy had a sledgehammer in his his left glove.

Haye is a much better match up for Alexander

1st Haye has less weapons than Wlad, Haye has the right, Wlad has a jab hook and right

    2nd Haye isnt 6'7 240

3rd Povetkin is a pressure kind of fighter and guys like this do better when they have a guy closer in size that they can bully who dont jab them on the way in

Povetkin may not be 100% ready for Wlad if he ever could be but Haye is very possible

Povetkin would beat the dog **** out of David Haye. Haye's power and athleticism very much hides the fact that his technique is average at best. He can slip punches and look flashy like he's Floyd Mayweather against guys like Monte Barrett and NiKO, but lets see him against an elite fighter and technician. Povetkin is underrated because he's not flashy or fast, and doesn't produce highlight reel KOs, but people often overlook how methodical he is, how well placed his feet are, how well he places his punches, how he's never off balance. Haye moves backwards in straight lines, often lifting his chin to lean back, he throws "hayemakers" that are wide and looping, his chin often goes up in the process. He's a poor man's RJJ. He has enough athleticism to look like a king in there with second tier fighters, but against the top dogs, his technical flaws will be exploited. Just like, if you put Jones in there with second tier fighters today, he'll look like the Jones of old (think Lacy fight), but against the best, he can't do that **** anymore.

    Good take:good

That sledge hammer found Wlad's chin early.

Imagine Sanders vs Haye. My God, the humanity.

How the HW landscape would look today if Corrie Sanders were to have applied himself instead of pounding Wild Turkey on the greens of S Africa. This guy could've changed the history of boxing with his pure unadulterated ability. But instead we only saw glimpses of the massive power in his hands, and that was without ever properly training or preparing for the fights.

For the record, I would put my money on Haye. Potvetkins grill is untested and if Haye was able to potshot Valuev for a decision, he could do the same to AP. Haye was also able to shake Valuev in the 12th, albeit for only like 3 seconds, but Valuev is battle tested, Potvetkin is not.

But seriously though, I don't think Haye takes this fight since he could earn more dough fighting lesser more marketable opponents like Tarver and Holyfield and Toney(who would probably come back and get a shot at Haye if he was eligible):patsch

Sauerland will tell them what to do! Sauerland did not want Haye to fight Wlad. He wants Povetkin to fight Wlad because both are boxing for Sauerland.

As Don King says "i come with the Champ and go with the Champ!".

There is no rule. WBA can do whatever they want. They may even order another eliminator which means Haye will not have to fight mandatory until the second half of the year. If they pick an opponent it will most likely be Boytsov (#2) or Ustinov since he is in top 5 and holds EBA title.

Chagaev is not out yet. They will have to try to make a fight first. The entire thing has to run its course.

Correct. We'll have to wait for the purse bid which Sauerland will win, they stage the fight in UK, Chagaev can't/won't get licensed...then the WBA goes down the list to Boytsov (doubtful), Povetkin (likely since he's Sauerland also), Ustinov (unlikely being K2) then Rahman (please GOD no). My guess is the WBA allows 60-90 more days to set this fight up, then time for training camp and the fight......

Just about right, Haye goes 7-9 months between fights.....a grueling pace for someone cleaning up the division and on pace to retire a HW ATG.

Povetkin-Haye is the most exciting fight in the division for me. The buildup to Wlad-Haye would be better but the fight itself isn't as interesting because we know who will win. Same with Vitali-Haye

As for the fight happening... I can't pinpoint my reasons, but I just can't see it.

Povetkin has a better chance to beat Haye, than Boystov and Chageav in my opinion...
