Would prime Dillian Whyte clear the 1970s because he's an evolved athlete ?

Is Whyte too big and skilled for the 1970s ?

No but it’s fair to say he’d be a contender

Whyte has about 30-40 lbs of extra weight on him. This doesn't make him "evolved", it makes him lazy.

Foreman would destroy Whyte in 3 rounds. Foreman blocked, evaded or partially blocked most of Frazier's left hooks and Frazier had quicker hands than Whyte and as such, Foreman would have zero issues with Whyte's hook since he would have more reaction time.

Foreman would ko Whyte with a big uppercut from either hand. If Fury can ko you with an uppercut, Foreman will knock you into tomorrow.

Whyte does not have the footspeed to get anywhere near Ali. Even the early 70's Ali could dance for several rounds. Whyte, with his extra weight, would get tired in 5 rounds chasing Ali around and then he would get hit with big combinations and eventually get stopped.

Whyte may be able to beat Norton. That being said, Whyte primarily relies on his left hook. He isn't a two handed puncher the caliber of a Shavers or a Foreman.

Whyte likely does not beat anyone who can maintain a good work rate past 6-7 rounds. He isn't quick, he isn't defensively great like a peak Mike Tyson, he doesn't have a great work rate. He is tough and has a terrific left hook.

I would not favour Whyte over Lyle, Shavers, Bugner etc. He might beat one of them but probably not all 3.

People forget the manner in which Whyte won his fight vs Parker- the head butting, rabbit punching, blatantly illegal tactics that should have led to a DQ loss.

What exactly is the evolution here? Is Whyte defensively better than Frazier? Can he maintain a higher work rate than Frazier or Ali? Is he quicker than Ali? Does he cut the ring better than Norton? Does he have better two handed power than Shavers? Is he more durable than Foreman?

I am confused by the evolution types because they never specify what evolution. I asked people to show me a cruiserweight or heavyweight today that could throw better technical combinations than Joe Louis and people were grasping at straws, avoiding the question all together.

Whyte would be a top contender but doesn't get past the big 3 of Frazier, Foreman and Ali

He’d have some good match ups but if we are serious let’s not act like being in HD makes you a superhero. Whyte could overpower some little guys.
