A Godlike 1973-1974 Prime Foreman was a absolute ****ing wrecking ball h2h monster - he had mega devestating one-punch KO power, extreme brute strength, warrior's heart, solid cast-iron chin, mad toughness, killer finisher skills, great mental toughness And mint cutting off ring footwork skills. :smoke

BUT it no secret Old Foreman was a hell of a lot SMARTER in Ring IQ. This cos he had teh ATG trainer Angelo Dundee as his trainer. What if Dundee had trained young Foreman? Would Prime Foreman have been invincible h2h And win VS every other Prime ATG by KO? IMO teh answer is YES. :thumbsup

Anyone heard George tell the tale that he was taught how to box like Ali and before every fight his trainer told him to just go knock the guy out?

    No doubt.

Foreman with Dundee would have sliced through the heavyweight division like a hot knife through butter.

He would lose to Ali, Holmes, Holyfield and maybe Tyson (that should go down well with you :) )

I heard that story. Dick Sadler told George that he'd make him a finesse fighter, but as soon as the bell rang,he'd tell George to go for the quick kill.

He'd lose to Ali,and maybe Holmes, but definitely NOT Holyfield or Tyson.

  11. while of course it helps , i think the idea of having a great trainer in your corner to some extent is overated and wouldnt make so much of a difference

No, not really. Dundee was a master stratigist who got the most out of his fighters with great boxing ability. Foreman had mimimal classic boxing skills , plus poor stamina. If Foreman fooled around trying to box, he would be gassed nidway & then be in trouble late. His present corner got the most out of him. utter destruction.

Not sure he would have the tools to beat a prime Chuck Gardner. The man defeated ATGs like Jimmy Young and Michael Tyson. Everyone knows Bruno was on steroids and had cement raps when he TKOed Gardner.
