Yes the pride of Britain (joke!), the one and only Anthony Joshua, against the legendary Max Baer!!

This is Joshua fresh from his fight against Klitschko
And Max from his slaying of Schmeling??

My money s on mad Max

Oh and Happy new year everyone :Saeufer:

AJ and Fury - pride of Britain.
If Max Baer were to beat AJ, then AJ better avoid fighting Wilder for the rest of his career.
    AJ defeats Baer by KO.

If AJ decides to get stuck in and trades with Max, then that's it imo, he's getting smashed.
This is a serious Baer in here, not the clowning around version, so if AJ gonna try and win he better be good.

While I think Joshua is more technically sound, I would not put him in Joe Louis's class as a boxer/puncher/finisher. While AJ is very good in these area's when not overly cautious, Max had excellent power, but not the speed of an Andy Ruiz. I think AJ could possibly outpoint or stop MB but a fit mentally sound in shape Max could also stop AJ.

I will go with AJ by UD with caution.

AJ isn't an ATG and neither is Max.

Honestly, I've never seen anything about Max that impressed me, outside of hitting power and probably chin, but he certainly doesn't have the skillset IMHO to land said power against the better ATG fighters and his chin being so good is probably a symptom of how bad he can look on film.

AJ prior to Ruiz, with the right mindset, destroys Max IMO and I certainly don't rate AJ, but he hits hard, has decent handspeed and I don't think Max holds up for the final bell, despite his lauded chin.

Max Baer had the physical tools to beat anyone who ever lived. Unfortunately he lacked the heart, the gonads, the backbone and most of all the brain to capitalize on those physical tools.

I quite like Baer in this one.

Joshua is better than most people thought prior to his previous fight, but let's not forget why people had changed their minds about him, and then changed it back again.

Joshua probably takes it, but Baer winning wouldn't be that surprising.

Max didn't have the quicks or form to get to AJ, who punches inside those haymakers and puts him to sleep in a couple rounds.

    Joshua (boxer-puncher/slugger) vs Baer (slugger)

    Power: Maybe Baer
    Chin: Baer
    Hand speed: Joshua
    Stamina: Baer
    Footwork: Joshua
    Accuracy: Joshua
    Ring IQ: Joshua
    Defense: Joshua
    Technique: Joshua
    Combinations: Joshua
    Versatility: Joshua

8-3 in Joshua's favor, and power is honestly debatable.

Unless Joshua makes the mistake he made in the Ruiz fight trying too hard to go for the KO and gasses (or he gets caught by something big), Joshua should win this with only moderate difficulty. He is Baer's superior in nearly every metric and has the experience, skill, and ability to dismantle Baer if he is in shape and doesn't just mindlessly trade.

My verdict: Joshua gets rocked a few times and has a few scary moments, but should win by KO within 5-7 rounds tops if he is focused and let's his hand go 70% of the time if both are at their best. Might resemble the Whyte fight.

I'm on board. Max might land one of those straight rights and take advantage of it but he might not too. It's his only chance.

I agree with the analysis but, if Joshua gets rocked he gets ko'ed
