No, Wilder and AJ are too long for Tua, they both throw great long range punches like Lewis did v Tua and both would do far better v Lewis than Tua did.

I think he could've even beaten Lennox Lewis if he didn't become the plodding blob that he was in their fight.

He is Ortiz level at best in this era, so I doubt it. Tua vs Ortiz would be a pretty good fight though

The smart money is that he wouldn't, and in any event, he was probably still a bit green when he beat Ruiz.

Thats the problem with "prime" Tua: Weight and mobility.
The young version under 220 looked like he could become another Tyson.

Dunno, but him on his best day vs Povetkin would have been a great blend of styles.

No doubt he would win a title on his best form. I think he would have beat wilder, he had the chin to take his power and wilder isn’t exactly a defensive master. I wouldn’t be comfortable backing AJ 100% either. I think fury is the only one that could tie Tua up and out point him.

    No.
Talls guys like Joshua, Wilder and Fury really don't need to do much to outbox Tua.

Wouldn't write his chances off against AJ to be honest .Can see Joshua getting in to a brawl with him and getting tagged by a Tua hook from hell. Wilder and Fury best him on point s .

joshua is much better set up defensivley against a lead left hook than wilder

fury would not fight in the pocket against tua so his defense against tua power is more or a moot point

i watched joshua v povetkin and joshua blocked most of povetkins left hooks catching them on a on a high right hand
he was watching for it at all times

yes povetkin landed a few but povetkin had more success with straight rights when he came in

left hooks lead and joshua eiehter saw them coming and stepped back /ducked them or caught them on the glove

where tua would be dangerous v joshua is joshua fighting in the pocket which he does love to do and getting chin checked in an exchange

when wilder throws from long range he leaves his chin open/ hands down legs off balance /and out of position
wilder gets by on handspeed /good reflexes and soft punchers

wilder has faced 1 puncher in his career in ortiz but he shoots straight lefts

but on wilders plus side tua was very respectfull of lewis power in thier fight and never tried to walk through lewis to get his own power home and both joshua and wilder might make tua do the same.

If he did manage to win, he's a guy that has a short title run. And he very well could lose a rematch against anyone he did get the victory over. But he does not have the footwork to get in proper range to land. And the arc of his lefthook has to be a lot higher as well. So I do not think he lands his left hook & if he does not land that punch, how does he win?

Yes, he would easily stop Wilder. Not sure how he fares against A.J.

Some talk about wilder out boxing Tua, then forget the fact wilder can’t box.
