Ali of the 60s nearly got ktfo by a cruiser with an ok left hook.

Tyson his left hooks are much stronger than anything Cooper could throw.
And Tyson was superior in every way.

Now I know why people don't argue with Tyson fans, he is caught on 2 seperate occasions saying Ali destroys him, but this won't silence his fans who believe he is invincible. All his combos and ducking do nothing against a guy with equal hand speed and a higher work rate, better endurance and moves backwards so all mikes shot miss andall of ali's land. What exactly is mikes defence for when Ali comes in with 20 combo upper cuts while pushing him back, nothing, I thought so

Ali is the most over-hyped fighter in history.

That's words of wisdom right there..Ali post 1970 was nowhere near as good as the Ali of 64-67..unbelievable speed and timing.

Overrated??..name any heavy weight (actually any fighter in any weight at any point in history) who has fought a higher class of opponent than Ali? Liston, Foreman, Norton, Frazier, Patterson, Williams, Chuvalo..the list goes on..

Name someone that Ali ever ducked..

The guy is a legend and it has nothing to do with civil rights and what he did outside the ring...he made his legend inside the ring..

Listen to what Tyson says in the video (hat off to Tyson by the way)..Ali was a ****ing animal that would genuinely rather die in the ring than lose..

Tyson would definitely give Ali trouble but Ali has the heart and sheer badness to overcome any onslaught from anyone ever..that's why he is the legend he is..

    Norton was glass jawed.
Patterson was glass jawed, very good lhw, would be a good CW, not a very good HW.
Williams: Golden era of boxing, where Ali fought a crippled guy who had his intestines removed after he was shot.
The only thing Chuvalo had was his chin and somewhat his defence, he is ok, but no elite.

Williams had been inactive the entire year of 1965 while recovering from gunshot wounds he suffered at the hands of a police officer arising out of a traffic stop. Boxing reporter Jerry Izenberg adds "...shot for no apparent reason." Williams was shot with a .357 Magnum in the abdomen, barely survived, and suffered permanent kidney damage, a loss of over ten feet of his small intestine, and nerve damage from the bullet which affected his left leg above the knee, causing it to atrophy as a result.

Tyson knocks out Ali in the first fight. Then Ali wins the next two on points. Maybe one of them on a K.O.

Ali never faced anyone with the quickness , agreession or perhaps most importantly the elusiveness of Tyson.
I actually think Tyson has a real shot of beating Ali, never mind winning 1 round.
Tyson has every physical advantage possible over Frazier, and Frazier did pretty well.

Prime Tyson was an incredible fighting machine..personally I think the only fighter that could of stood a chance against prime Tyson was Ali..

In their own way both these fighters were absolutely awe inspiring at their peak which is why their legacy will last so long..

    Lennox Lewis possibly.

His win over Shavers is somewhat controversial, it was a close fight and Shavers wasn't exactly a good boxer so not a big achievement for Ali.
Also Shavers had bad stamina and a weak chin, not very impressive.

And his win over Lyle is even more controversial.
Lyle wasn't dropped, and was ahead on 2 of the judges their scorecards.

Ali also lost 2 of the 3 Norton bouts, only the second he really won.
The other was just plain robbed.

It's fairly simple; a lot of people believe that Ali is the best H2H heavyweight ever, and for good reason; nobody had the combination of speed, elusiveness and chin that he did, I'd give people a chance to beat him in his prime, but I wouldn't give anyone over a 40% chance.

People need to realise that Tyson and Frazier were actually quite different fighters; while Frazier was practically the definition of an inside fighter, Tyson actually wasn't a true inside fighter - yes he was a swarmer, but he tended to explode from mid-range, like that leaping left hook. On the inside he tended to clinch a lot more - I'm sure I read somewhere that he didn't actually like fighting on the inside that much. Plus, I think that the kind of pressure that Tyson put on opponents was different to the kind Frazier did, Frazier was relentless, at your chest all the time, while Tyson wasn't quite like that. For that reason I think it's wrong to say that Ali had a lot of trouble with Frazier, and so he'd have a lot of trouble with Tyson. And obviously we have to remember if we're talking about a prime Ali, then I don't see him having as much trouble with Frazier. But yeah, I still think that Tyson would give Ali trouble for a few rounds, he was a one of a kind fighter tbh.
