Would Rigo always get outclassed at the ATG level?

Rigo has superb skills. His problem was, he bit on every feint Loma gave him. Once Rigo went defensive from the feint, Loma was able to get into offensive position and be safe defensively. Lopez on the other hand, never but on the feint, in my opinion, that's why Loma's offense was nonexistant. Once Loma did away with the feint and punched, he had much more success.

Rigondeaux bit the feint but Rigondeaux from a few years before would have still been able to move while putting that much weight on his back foot (look at the Donaire fight). He didn’t have the legs when he fought Lomachenko. Lomachenko and Top Rank cherry picked!

You may right. I was just speaking that fight. Personally I thought Rigo would have been able to stop Loma from dipping to his left, but Rigo could never catch up to him.

So for Rigondeaux you consider it a valid excuse but for Loma it's not?

Loma has campaigned and reigned as a champion at lightweight. Rigo jumped 2 classes at 37 to fight at a weight he's never fought at before. Not even remotely the same

Rigondeaux is a small Super Bantamweight who moved up to Super Featherweight at the ripe old age of 37.

That's like asking Lomachenko to move up to 147 at 37 and fight someone like Felix Trinidad.

You people don't seem to be aware of the weight divisional differences. The amount of lies on this subject is unreal.

    super bantamweight, 122 pounds
    (4lbs difference)
    featherweight, 126 pounds
    (4lbs difference)
    super featherweight, 130 pounds
    (5lbs difference)
    lightweight, 135 pounds
    (5lbs difference)
    light welterweight, 140 pounds
    (7lbs difference)
    welterweight, 147 pounds (67 kg)
    (7lbs difference)
    light middleweight, 154 pounds
    (6lbs difference)
    middleweight, 160 pounds
    (8 lbs difference)
    super middleweight, 168 pounds )
    (7lbs difference)
    light heavyweight, 175 pounds
    (25 lbs difference)
    cruiserweight, 200 pounds
    heavyweight, unlimited

Rigo was a super bantam, Loma was a super feather ( who started at feather) . So that is JUST 8 POUNDS DIFFERENCE.!
I.e - thats the equivalent if just moving up 1 weight class in most divisional differences! It's not much!! There's far too many weight classes in thr lower weights. It's just like Ward moving up from super middleweight to light heavyweight to face Kovalev! If Rigo was as great as they claimed he would have moved up them measly few pounds and won without any excuses!

Also it's easy to say Rigo was old and shot after the fight. When at the time he was P4P top 5 and many people tipped him to beat Loma!

8 lbs is a big deal in the lighter divisions.
