man rigondeaux has exploded on this forum. i wonder who'll be the flavour of the year for 2014...

mayweather and rigondeaux are at the same level, people saying one would dominate the other is just biased bull****. mayweather is just as fast, just as skiled, better offensively and defensively. rigondeaux has better footwork and faster movement.

I give the edge to mayweather based on better punching and better chin

Mayweather would be too big. If they were about the same size, Rigo would win, because he is the better boxer out the the two, has better footwork and movement and is harder to hit. Floyd is also among the most skilled boxers in the sport but Rigondeaux is number 1 in my opinion without any doubt.

Rigondeaux is to one dimensional. Floyd would adjust as always and pull away.

sorry kid, that is 100% your opinion and your opnion loses all credibilty by the simple statement you claim rigo better at everything and he is more accomplished. such a meatball statement.e

i never once said rigo was not skilled, i said i have not seen anything in the handful of fights i had seen of his the give him the upper hand in any dept..

the ONLY anyone in the world can claim rigo is proven to be better at is getting knocked down by fighters that couldnt hold floyds jockstrap if they somehow given 10 extra levels of skill

how can both be better ?
so just to name a few that are clear,

Floyd has better combos, he has a better jab to the head and body, he has a better chin, he has better accuracy, he has more power in a p4p sense, he has better offense to def transition and vise versa, has much more versatile def, he is a better counter puncher, he has better lead punches, he has better balance, better head movement..

i only seen 4/5 rigo fights an 1 against anything close to a top fighter and i knew nonito does and would prove to have problems with boxers. i just dont know which rigo fights to watch where he displays this all time greatest skills.

That's very disrespectful towards Rigo and we could go out and say similar thing about Floyd as well. He got knocked down by Judah who wouldn't be anything near Rigo's level even if his skills were upgraded by 10 levels. We both know that neither of that is ture therefore I see no point in bashing Rigo.
Most of the people expected Donaire to knock him out because they simply didn't know enough about Rigondeaux (and the fact that Donaire was rated #3 or #4 on some imaginary "P4P" list) which proves that most of the people would simply believe the media if something is propagated enough even if it doesn't have anything to do with reality.
People who follow amateur/Olympic boxing were well aware of Rigo's abilities and not many of them thought that so called "top p4p fighter" would defeat the double gold medalist.

I'm telling you that there isn't anyone on Rigondeaux' weight or around that has what it takes to defeat Rigo and he openly said that he would fight everybody. And it's not said because of the marketing, but because Rigo is indeed so good that nobody around 120 is a legit threat to him. That is the true example of a boxer being on a higher level that everybody else.

In Floyd's case, how many times did you hear people in media saying that "he is the p4p king", "nobody is even close to him" etc etc etc. It's your choice whether you choose to believe what American media says or not, but he is not more skilled nor talented than Rigondeaux. I'm not saying it because Mayweather often refuses to fight boxers that are considered threats by the public, but because Rigondeaux displayed the level of boxing which Floyd didn't. You can be entitled to your opinion but it doesn't give you the right to bash the boxer who won 2 gold medals, would amateur championships and professional world championship while defeating the opponents while making them look like they are nothing.

    Fair enough
like i said, i have very limited rounds on rigo and from anything i seen i cant see anything he does btter than floyd. nor i have i or you seen flpyd get knocked down. tripping on zabs foot and falling off balance does not count as a KD. the ref could have called it a KD since zab throw a kinda right hand that touched his froehead.
people are high on rigs like you but the vast difference in skill between them and their opponents heavily favors floyd. you say people dont want to fight him if he was one of the highest paying fight for everyone people would be lined up just like they always are for the top draw..

i dont put much weight in Gold and AM championships. its the same with Vasyl, i have yet to see what everyones talking about at all. granted i have seen him in the ring once. i can tell rigo has special skills but i havent seen anything to say he is the best skilled fighter now never mind best skills ever.. i think its common knowlegde floyd is easily one of the most talented ever and he has honed that into skill that very few rival ever..

if rigo has that level of talent and can turn that into real life skills he will eventually be regarded as one of the best in boxing and be promoted properly

Floyd was even better at the lower weights.

Mayweather would catch Rigo, good night.

I agree with you. But I was in the slight minority in rating Donaire as lofty as I did.

Well is Donaire great or is he not? Was he great all the way up to 122 and at that time?

Because unless Donaire is GREAT, Mayweather has multiple better wins.

And it seems like those who build up Rigondeaux tear apart and degrade Donaire. Not sure if they realize what they're doing by that. I just ask them to be consistent.
