why would you waste 4 years in an extremely corrupt sport he had been disgracefully robbed twice in aiba competition only 2 or 3 months before the olympics, so i'm sure he knows it's not worth the risk either, did some digging and found this apparently he'll be able to turn pro without leaving cuba This content is protected
I think what he means is he can fight in APB boxing not traditional pro boxing. I think savon will join APB too
shame what they did to savon to, I don't think he'll want to fight for aiba again either, when he beat levitt and they didn't give it to him
and no i don't think it means apb because they've had guys there before fight in apb, it's not considered pro there two guys were livan navarro and arisnoidis despaigne
That comment about Ramirez competing as a pro in Cuba has to be about APB. There's nothing there to suggest otherwise. Only that they want Cuban boxing to modernise and be part of the entertainment industry that professional sport is. Despaigne is the only Cuban who fought in APB, and from this APB press release about his debut in Russia it seems like Cuba's strictly planning on APB as their pro venture, and isn't able to or intent on building promotional companies that would stage fights on the traditional pro circuit. http://www.aibaproboxing.com/2015/0...compete-aiba-pro-boxing-friday-night-june-20/ I think that Instagram page is a Cuban expat group in the US who simply has their information wrong and is engaging in wishful thinking. If Cuba is going into non-AIBA pro boxing there should be more credible information out there. Till there is I highly doubt it's going to happen. Ramirez will almost certainly have to defect and turn pro in the US if we're going to see him fight the established top pros.
Nah I doubt that seriously, they already have the wsb apb would be considered no different, that guy was even at the olympic games called willie suarez he knows what's he's talking about, and no livan navarro also fought in apb, if you read it it talks about promoters and tv deals, something which has nothing to do with apb, because pros can compete in the olympics now it probably means they will allow pro boxing if it's tied in some way to keeping their olympic status
None of those posters got banned because you wanted them to, they got banned for streaming illegal content, or for annoying the moderators, something YOU are doing right now Mikelascano
You are useful for something with your zealot brain. Just keep posting stuff regarding Cuban boxing updates and we'll be alright. Is there a statement from Robeisy or a representative saying he will be turning pro, or is it just that he has the 'opportunity', which is great news, too.
willie suarez who posted that also is in contact with the team and was there at the Olympics did an interview with ramirez to
Thanks. Nothing definitive but it does seem peculiar how he would introduce Robeisy Ramirez the way he did there, he could've just had a picture of the team or even Robeisy without mentioning his name, and saying the rest of that message. I think you're onto something. I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.
He'd probably make more of an impact than lomachenko did, he's better defensively and has power than loma to
I doubt he will, i saw a video of him arriving in Cuba in it seemed like a huge party, his family is there and he said that he wants another gold, also, Willie Suarez is a good guy, but isn't a good source, he has announced the fight of Gamboa like 4 times, including the one with Cotto that Cotto confirmed wasn't even in talks, i hope Robeisy turns pro but i doubt he will, i will love to see Iglesias turning pro, the guy hasn't win a tournament in years and the judges never go to his side.
Rumour is Kyoei are looking to sign him, Teiken have just signed Joselito Velazquez and could also be interested in Ramirez
