I remember after he thrashed Ruiz there was small talk about a unification between him and Sanders.. would he have been able to do a paintjob on Sanders like he did Ruiz?

It'd be hard to make Jones the favorite but I definitely think he could've pulled it off... all's he'd have to look out for was the straight left.

Sanders would have been a tough job....considering he was a good southpaw heavyweight with good pop and reasonably fast hands for his size !

    No.

Jones could've fought Lewis in a megafight, Sanders as unification or Vitali as a mandatory defense. He prefered to return to 175.

That doesn't necessarily mean he couldn't.

Sanders was more talented than Ruiz, stronger, faster, and twice as powerful. He'd find Roy's chin early and knock him out.

Uhm...Sanders sucked, and had no stamina. Roy runs away for three rounds, then picks Sanders apart for a UD. Very winnable fight for roy. That's not to say that Sanders could not win, he was a big guy with a punchers chance.

Roy's heavyweight stint was so dissapointing to me. I really thought after beating Ruiz, he should have fought Byrd. He would have beaten Byrd, Byrd has no power and Roy had the speed edge. That would have given Roy 2 of the three belts. Then, he should have challenged Lennox in a megafight. Lewis would have killed him, but people would admire Jones for taking on the big man. It was a no-lose plan for Roy. If he get's KOed by Lewis, no big deal, he was a much smaller man trying to make HIStory. If he somehow won (no way!) he would have been the greatest fighter ever.
Instead, Roy moved down, and looked bad in a winning attempt against Tarver, then got destroyed in the rematch. If it were a heavyweight knocking him out, he could have saved face; but, being shattered by a man of his own size broke Roy's confidence, he's never been the same since.

Jones is much better boxer, atleast overall, but Sanders nail him out easily...speed, strenght and size 6'4..
