    well?

if chaggy gets it on with waldo at some point would he provide more of a challenge than sultan did who practically sold his belt to wlad?

you would have to say yes. even if he got knocked out you would think he would put up a more spirted fight while it lasted.

Ruslan is probably the better fighter out of Sultan and he. But styles not only make fights, but they break them; as witnessed the other week. Ruslan might put up a rougher fight but he may get dispatched easier at the same time.

That depends. If Wlad knocks Chagaev out, then Ibragimov's preformance looks a lot better. If its a decsion loss, then it depends on how many rounds Chagaev wins.

I think Ibragimov has better footspeed, reach, hand speed, and countering ability.

I think Chagaev has a better chin, and hits a little harder.

Chagaev did not go to war with either Virchis or Valuev. He opted to box and won close points matches.

Ibragimov opted to box vs Briggs and Holyfield and easily beat them.

So Iggy might have been better equiped to beat Wlad because he is the better boxer. Iggy just did not want to risk getting knocked out, which is also Chagaev's stategy vs bigger fighters.

    Couldn't do much bloody worse.

I do generally feel Chagaev has a bit more aggression about him, in a way I didn't with Sultan. Whether that's enough against Wlad is another matter entirely, but I am 100% it would be a better fight.

i think we've got to keep in mind he's coming off a pretty bad illness against an opponent who is impossible to look good against.

his conditioning was also less than impressive as well, might have something to do with the lay off and illness.

I'm extremely disappointed in Sultan. I was hoping he'd make like Smokin' Joe and get on the inside. I should have known better; I watched him against Austin a couple years ago.

He would do better than Sultan, he got more power in his hook, fights well at angles, pretty good counter puncher, overall solid oppenent for Wlad, I think Peter and Valuev are still tougher challenges for Wlad at this time though.

Sultan is a good fighter, i dont understand why you guys are bashing him. It was simply an uneven match that happened..too much physical advantage for Wlad...

unfortunately, unless somebody with atleast a decent size comes in, Wlad will be the man to beat.

yes. Since Ibragimov went with Mayweather he has been trying to finesse his way through fights. Look at Briggs, HOlyfield and Wlad...he just darted in for a few seconds then took the next 30 seconds as an opportunity to stay away and tire his opponnent. CHagaev would fair better.

yes wlad-ruslan would be a better fight to watch than wlad-iggy.

the main reason is chagaev is less worried about getting into the action, whereas iggy's style changed totally after the draw with austin. also, iggy has perfected the lean back and wait for a counter shot approach. and being a southpaw as well, his lead foot is way foward of where his head is so in hindsight the wlad-iggy fight was doomed to be a bad matchup for such a tall fighter.

chagaev not only doesn't worry about engaging like iggy, but he also simply cannot lean back like iggy. he does use a lot of footwork, but he's still rather straight up, and even leans inwards which would make it far easier for wlad to nail him with regular bombs.
