Apart from his size, there's nothing Martinez has over Pacquiao. Martinez is extremely overrated. He's also old as dirt and \looked mediocre in his last two fights against no-namers. All his hype revolves around the Paul Williams KO, that's it. Aside from him he beat a drunken / damaged Kelly Pavlik. He's as basic as they come . Cotto is a better fighter then Martinez, and probably has a better shot at beating Floyd.

 

I believe so. Martinez has a more effective straight left hand than Manny. Martinez would have a height and reach advantage against Floyd. Whereas, Floyd would be able to control Manny and maintain enough distance to be able to see most of Manny's body shots coming. I know most fans won't agree, but i do feel like Floyd would be able block most of Manny's punches with the exception of the straight left hand and maybe the right hook.

 

No more mediocre than Pacquiao looked in his last two against Mayweather's leftovers. And unlike Pacquiao's last two opponents, the guys Martinez had some problems with and ultimately stopped were in their primes and rated in the top 3 in their country (and top ten in the world).

Oh, and he's obviously more powerful than Pacquiao - not just bigger.

Yes, because he's a legit mw with power. Floyd is a ww. Pac is a jww. So the difference in size between Sergio and Pac on fight night would be close to 20 lbs. Obviously all 3 are elite fighters so size matters.

 

Barker and Macklin weren't/aren't tomato cans. Top contenders in their primes, actually. I guess you don't really follow anything above 154lbs?

Mosley is done, and that's going to be proven next week when he's thrashed by a guy who wouldn't hold a candle to SSM in his prime.

Marquez is no spring chicken either and he made Pacquiao look stupid.

By far...Certain posters don't get that Pacquiao's style is tailormade for Floyd. Everything Manny does, "amatuer hooking," "running in off balance," "lack of defense," "flawed footwork," "poor defense," "over extending on his punches," is tailor made for Floyd....short jab and short arms etc etc etc...

Floyd would knock Pac out inside of 7..maybe 8 rounds..Martinez goes the distance in a much more competitive fight.

 

Pacquiao amatuer hooks off balance with Floyd enough, he'll find himself being hit by something he doesn't see.
