Sugar Shane vs Paul Williams , arguably the most tastey WW match up out there today !!!!!!

But would Shane Mosley find himself in a win win situation and would Williams fold under the pressure ?????

He would lose momentum. Losing to a guy like Williams will not allow you to lose face but will take a bit of steam out of Shane's train.
I would not enjoy that fight as much as I would a Cotto or Pac. Shane is powerful and hungry so this fight could go either way, just would rather see Cotto or Pac.

Ya he would. He already took on very difficult opponents in Winky and Forrest and people slate him for those losses.

I think is a win win situation regarding the respect of the hard core fans. But in term of cash a fight with Cotto or Pac or Floyd will generate a lot more.

Well of course his stock would fall after a loss to Williams. Shane already has a bad rep against taller, rangier opponents and losing to another one would put yet another stain on his up and down resume.

What's worse is that at this late stage in his career a loss like this could likely end his run among boxing's elite. Given his age he can hardly afford a loss right now.

He wouldnt in my eyes but to the scedulers at HBO and Showtime he would lose market appeal. Its a shame really because anyone who fight williams at welterweight gets respect from me. It frustrating to to watch Mosley and Williams struggle to get fights because they both have so much talent but just cannot get the exposure.

Who would love to see Williams Vs CLotty?

He'll get a lot of heat for it, he got a lot of hating remarks for losing to Cotto despite it being close and looking better for Mosley late in the fight as he hurt Cotto. A loss to Williams might push him out of the picture for a while till he comes back and beats a highly regarded fighter like he did with Margarito.

The answer to this question would depend on how the fight went.

If Shane gets KO'ed and was never really any competition for Williams - he'll be better off retiring after the fight.

If he loses - but puts up one hell of a fight - his stock wouldn't fall far - but it would still hurt him some and he would be in no position to demand much of anything.

If he wins - he probably won't get any fights he wants - just like right now.

Williams is probably the last option for them - they want no parts of Williams and they have made it known.

A Shane Mosley loss to any one right now could mean Mosley hangs it up?
But a Shane victory over Williams would destroy his momentum like it did to Margarito's.
(Bring it to a screeching hault)

Watch Shane Mosley's terrible performances against Vernon Forrest, a fighter who is very similar to Paul Wiliams (works behind a long jab and does not like to mix it up).

Paul Williams would annihilate Shane Mosley, which is why Sugar Shane has never even mentioned the Punisher's name so far. Mosley likes to mix it up and fight inside, but was unable to do that against Forrest.

The only guy who I can see beating Paul Williams is Ricardo Mayorga, the guy who KO'd Vernon Forrest. He lunges in with bombs over the top, neutralizing his opponent's jab. But when Mayorga has to fight on the inside, like against De La hoya, he lacks the handspeed and is outpunched.

Prime Mayorga? It isn't really a stretch to say that Prime Mayorga can beat Paul Williams, is it?

Current Mayorga though won't stand much of a chance I agree.
