Would (SHOULD) GGG accept a Cotto fight at 155?

Cause u know that will be a stipulation if they do meet!

    Cotto is THE STAR

GGG has said he can make 154 no problem, should he bitr the bullet and accept 155 or will ut drain him too much?!

160 or no fight. Period. This isn't the 'catchweight' championship it is the Middleweight Championship.

Middleweight king asking to defend the middleweight title at jr middle? Yup, it certainly can happen.

Golovkin will accept the fight though and he'll win in less than 9 rounds.

Well said but GGG will go for it, I think. Then he will honor the title by defending at the true weight.

He won't take a catchweight because Golovkin can't make 154 or anywhere close to it

Thats just bs from their camp

He can't go much below middleweight limit

That being said, Cotto should defend the title at 160 against Golovkin

No. It's a middleweight belt and this fight should be made at 160. Cotto THE STAR like chicano would say....I'll tell you what: Cotto's star would be tarnished after this fight...

this, not really ideal but if its what it takes to get the real champion the title then go ahead GGG.

Cotto would still get KTFO, even at 154. If that's the only way the one they call Triple G can get Cotto into the ring then he should go for it. It'd confirm Golovkin's super-stárdom, as well as claim MW lineage.

He weighed 158.9 for Murray and didn't look "****ed up" at all. Don't know why you're saying that. He fights so often that he doesn't have time to balloon up too much so cutting weight isn't an issue. Not saying he could make 154 just like he makes 160, but there's no indication that it would drain him completely. But for the sake of the topic, **** no this fight shouldn't be at a CW. 160 or nothing.

Yeah remember what happened to Dawson when he went down to 168?

Got knocked out by KO artist Andre Ward

And he was never the same fighter after that

Similarly, I think that Golovkin would be putting himself in risk by draining that low

Yeah I think it should be at 160 too

But what seems like only a few pounds can do a great deal of damage to a fighter

I still don't think he can make 154 or 155

Yes he should, and he would win.

Here's the thing though, Cotto wouldn't ask for a 155lb catchweight, he didn't even request it from Martinez, they fought at 159lbs.

They know his body better than we do, so if they say he can make it, I'm inclined to believe it more than what my eyes may tell me. But yeah like we said, we shouldn't have to fight out since it shouldn't be at those weights anyway. Seems like we'll never know because Cotto appears to be motioning that he's more than likely going to vacate.
