Theres another interesting story, after one of his fights Witherspoon was meant to be charged $700 for his sparring expenses. Don King 'accidentally' added an extra zero and charged him $7,000.

Its funny isn't it? The guy is 49-1 and NONE of the top fighters ever talk about fighting him or mention his name.But guys like Rod Salka,Luis Collazo, and such get fights against big names meanwhile Spaddy is never even mentioned.
As far as Mayweather that would have been a good fight and no it wouldn't have been a walk in the park for Mayweather.
The sparring session that everyone is so quick to write off-let me point a couple of things out:1.Mayweather kept coming into Spaddys camp and talking smack-wanting to spar but Spaddys people at first didn't want Spaddy to spar Mayweather for whatever reason-it was only when Mayweather kept showing up that finally they agreed to let the two of them spar.
2.Spaddy WHIPPED his ass-don't care what the excuse is on that day he got the better of Mayweather.3.Mayweather wanted to end the sparring session early on a couple of occasions.
Spadafora at one time was truly something-a slick southpaw with fast hands, tough and he did have a great boxing IQ-very intelligent boxer who had been taught well.
But the problem with Spadafora was you couldn't get him away from the neighborhood and even if you somehow did he would somehow for whatever reason go back.
Everybody loves to point out the Dorin fight as some kind of proof that Spadafora is somehow vastly overrated when the moment Spadafora won that title he started to go down hill.And it was a shame because he truly was something when he was living clean. I just find it FUNNY how NONE of the contenders,champions will mention his name much less fight him.
