    1. Floyd was within his right to punch Ortiz. Ortiz made a mistake, Mayweather made him pay. Are you equally angry that Ortiz repeatedly tried to headbutt Mayweather or is it only Mayweather who you have the problem with? I find it amusing that the majority of professional boxers and trainers that have commented/tweeted/posted on the subject have basically said "Protect yourself at all times" yet it's the fans (and in some cases I use the term "fans" loosely) who are kicking up a fuss. If you feel so strongly about it form a union and lobby for a new rule that you can only hit a person if he has his hands up.

    2. This wasn't a post saying Mayweather took the higher ground or somehow became the merciful angel of pity. It was a post by me saying in my opinion it could have been alot worse. And considering the beating Ortiz was taking up until that point, he should just take the cash and enjoy it. Studies have shown that brain damage is more serious from repeated blows to an already concussed brain rather than one KO punch concussing and opponent and the fight is stopped. I already said it was a cheapshot and I said it was unsportsmanlike so why are you getting your knickers in a knot?

    3. Did you even watch those fights? Ali did not win over any fans with those two performances. Ali was beating them up just enough so the fight wouldn't be stopped but enough to keep them hurt. He was continually taunting them and belittling them inside the ring beyond what people would call sportsmanlike. I suggest you dig out your boxing history books.

The thing that separates Mayweather 'n Robinson from the pack isn't skill, grit or talent, it's that they'd do ANYTHING to win.

The two fighters I thought about doing something similar were Duran and Hagler. If you think they would let someone hug, kiss and touch gloves with them multiple times after the ref had restarted without doing what Mayweather did you're crazy. Especially after they had just been fouled.

Whitaker landed countless low blows on Chavez when the ref was repositioning himself.

Hopkins low blows when the refs are out of position.

Tyson would throw elbows with his hooks.

Marciano threw elbows with his hooks.

except...Floyd broke no rule. He put his hands up, his opponent didn't. There's something really ***** about guys that spend their whole day obsessing and getting furious over everything Floyd does.

Those of you putting Tyson and Rocky in the equation are off. They are almost EXPECTED to elbow and butt after a punch and take cheap shots.

The ones I put in the title are artists, very dangerous artists but not as dirty as someone like Tyson and Rocky. At least from the bouts I've seen.
