Would the fight have been different with 8oz gloves?

I'm not going to **** on Cotto for asking fot the rule to be enforced but I thought it was pretty eye opening last night when the commentators said that the reason thet Cotto wanted 10oz, was because they were bigger and provded him more defensive protection when he was covering up. Floyd hasn't used 10oz since 2007, and he's always made it clear that he hated that.

I'm wondering how this fight looks with 8oz gloves. Floyd's punches would be fasterm and could sneak through the guard better. I think the glove size definitely benefitted Cotto and helped keep him from getting chopped up worse.

Some of those flush shots Mayweather was landing on the jaw and behind the ear would probably have stung more.
