The nineties had second-tier monsters like Botha, Schulz, Mercer, Byrd and Hide, and I don't see how they could get past guys like that, let alone the top guys who had serious fights with those dudes. If you've seen what guys like Mercer did in there with Lewis, you know Vitali would never hang with either one of them, let alone Wlad.

First off, Foreman wouldn’t go near either of them, so that chance for a title is off the table.

On the other hand, Moorer would be helpless and Briggs would be beaten senseless. Douglas would play dead for a paycheck. That’s three potential easy routes to lineage.

Holyfield doesn’t match up well with them and had a lot of off nights.

Bowe didn’t like fighting old versions of Tubbs and Biggs. Vitali would be hell for him. Bowe also was easy to hit, and Wlad had bigger power and was bigger/stronger than anyone he fought (Gonzalez=trash). His prime was also quick. Bowe would be a doable path to lineage and wouldn’t be much of a threat to their titles by 95.

Lewis is obviously the biggest problem, but was pretty flawed in the first half of the 90s. Tyson was dangerous but flawed.

Basically, Vitali could beat anyone but would probably have issues with injuries and probably wouldn’t be favored over Lewis. If the matured version of Wlad came along at the right time, he could also beat anyone but I don’t think he’d be a twenty defense champ if he ran into a prime Lewis.

They would be right there, but definitely not as dominant as their actual reigns--that being said, the guys from the 1990s would move around to accommodate them as well. Frank Bruno would get smoked bad by either, Herbie Hide wouldn't last many rounds, Oliver McCall, Moorer, I just don't see them beating Klitschkos. Once you get to the cream of the crop it becomes dicier for the brothers. I can see both brothers beating and being beaten by Mercer. Bowe didn't want to fight another big man with skills and power, so I feel like that kind of says that. I think both would have an advantage over Holyfield. I think Vitali vs. Lennox doesn't change that much, but maybe Lennox takes a decision since he was a bit old in 2002. It's interesting for sure. I don't think Tommy Morrison or Ruddock touches either brother, and both get stopped most likely. Lennox vs. Wlad is also interesting as a lot of people here would make it out to be a glass cannon battle, but I think it's a 50/50 fight. They had parallel careers in how they developed as fighters and carried many of the same attributes throughout their evolutions. Any of the washed 80s guys hanging around would be smoked with prejudice.

I am sure that they would have got through somewhere, if only based on longevity.

Hugely unapologetic Klitschko fan boy so take my opinion for what it’s worth.

But simply put I think it’s impossible that in there primes a heavyweight as big, intelligent, athletic, quick, powerful and determined as Wladimir,
or a heavyweight as big, intelligent, powerful, durable, punishing, stylistically unconventional and determined as Vitali, couldn’t be a champion in some capacity in era in history.

You think Foreman would dodge Wlad? I agree he'd go nowhere near Vitali, but if you're Foreman and have seen that glass chin on Wlad, it gets you thinking, no?

Wlad would cruise through the decade in a way the Lummox was unable to.

The “huggy bear” tactics are exactly why Tyson lost to Evander?

If he’s on, I agree. Wlad would’ve swatted Holyfield, Tyson and Bowe. Lennox I’m not sure.
