Repeat: Les Moonves didn't have to call Mayweather to get things started. That wasn't the person that needed convincing. He called Bob Arum first. And to give credit where credit is due: Roach told Moonves to call Arum.

And no, this kind of money is being made possible because of the joint promotion of HBO/Showtime. It's a huge event with a 5 year build up. They would have received LESS MONEY in 2010 for this fight. Sad for the fans, but true.

 

idiotic conclusions. Both fighters had extremely limited options. For Floyd, a Cotto rematch still makes money. A Kahn fight just makes enough to not break even. Now for Pacquiao, lets see. Cant fight Cotto, same trainer. Kahn fight would do good if it was in the UK, but greedy ass Arum would want it in Macao. So his only real option, was the "official backup plan" Jesse Vargas.

And that folks pretty much sums this all up. so instead of complaining like little school girls, sit back and enjoy the fact that the fight we have been yearning for is finally a reality.
