SRR beat Armstrong...albeit a faded version.

Irrelevant to his point though really, I'm sure you agree. His victory over Armstrong isn't the reason for Robinson's status as consensus greatest ever, it's just a small part.

This thread seems to be implying that Manny Pacquao and Floyd Mayweather are within touching distance of one another in the ATG rankings. I don't like that.

Simple question, simple answer...that is all. Ive got no motivation to add anymore to this thread, the craziness will die down in due time...it happens after all recent "superfights"...HBO do their job well.

Yeah nice try bruz...Floyd has been outside the top 3 and even outside the top 5 for most of the time between 2000-2004.

Not that I put to much into those ratings..but if you are going to probably should get the facts straight :good

Yes, once Mayweather beats Pacquiao convincingly, he will be considered top 10 all time universally.

if pac retires today he is borderline top 10. If he beats mayweather, he is top 10

if he KO's mayweather. he is top 3 since WW2

No not for either fighter but it would greatly enchance both legacies.

Pacquiao would be a top 20 lock, probally just outside the top 15 if he wins but you gotta understand when you hit top 15-20 the resmue's of these fighters are so deep it takes more than 1 fight to move up even a few spots. I have Pacquiao at around #22-25 right now. I would probally say about #17-19 if he beats Mayweather.

Mayweather would have the opportunity to move up more. It is hard to rate him I would say 35-45ish right now. The Mosley win certainly helped a bit but the resmue still doesn't match the talent. If he beats a 31 year old #1 p4p fighter who owns a welterweight belt then I would say he moves into the top 30 and if he beats Martinez after that I would move him into the top 20-25.

    You guys been drinking.

No way does a pac win propell him up into the top 10 of all time. If floyd is such a big name on the ATG list then surely he is ahead of pac on the ATG list already if pac is to be propelled so far up the rankings.

They should promote the fight as 'The Legacy', and continuously spout about how the winner will have earned their right to be considered one of the greatest fighters ever in the history of boxing. That would be pretty sensational and draw in more viewers and raise the profile of the sport even more. The general public would eat it up.

If both retired after the fight, one would make it, in boxrec at least lol.
