Good point, they were pretty bulked up but AJ has taken it a step further in my opinion, to the point he seems so big I effects his movement in the ring. Those guys still looked fluid, AJ looks like robocop.

It's true whether or not his has a great career. He's been dropped how many times ?

When Joshua has accomplishments half as good as Fury then perhaps your posts on the two men will have some legitimacy. :good

    At 16 fights he wasn't.
But 2 1/2 years into his career, he was ahead of Joshua. He was 31-0 and held the WBA, WBC and IBF belts.

Anyway, point is, Joshua's done nothing yet. Charles Martin, on the available evidence now, is very possibly the worst HW paper-belt-holder ever.
Dillian Whyte might be a half-decent scalp.

His hands are pretty fast and accurate though. That goes a long way. He does need to develop some proper movement and stance though.

I think Fury would defeat him with angles. Unless Joshus improves drastically.

I pretty much agree, his punching seems fairly rapid, early on anyway. It's his movement that seems more programmed. I also think fury would out box him at this point. I actually hope AJ will improve on his weaknesses, but think it's a tall order. The division isn't exactly amazing, probably only a few out there than can exploit the problems.

I'm sure he's been dropped more than twice.

So you're saying Joshua wouldn't run through all the bums Tyson did if he fought with the same regularity?

All I can say on Joshua is watch this space, if Tyson defeats Wlad again and they meet Joshua will take the titles off him IMO, I'll put money on it.

Why is Martin poor? Because he got knocked out early by a massive puncher? Was Trevor Berbick **** poor? It's boxing, these things happen.

    As a pro ?
    Name them.

The first 16, yes, he probably would.

    We'll see.

Berbick had credentials going into the fight.
Berbick tried like hell to get up, after a leg scrambling shot.
Martin, by contrast, sat smiling as he took his count on the canvas.

What's the difference between Charles Martin and David Jaco (Tysons 16th fight)?

Jaco had shared the ring with Carl Williams, Tony Tucker, Razor Ruddock and Pierre Coetzer prior to facing Tyson.

Oh and he held a victory over Razor Ruddock.

Afterwards, Jaco went on to face Buster Douglas, Jose Ribalta, Elijah Tillery, Johnny Du Ploy, Mike Weaver, Oliver Mcall, Gary Mason, George Foreman, Alex Stewart, Tommy Morrison, Bert Cooper and Adilson Rodrigues.

Most of these guys, he fought back to back.

Now, does Charles Martin compare to that?

He would beat all 3 on the same night, one after the other.

Look at the question he asked and my response.

Before Anthony Joshua there was another guy. He was 6'3, 83' reach. 230-240 pounds, big muscles, loved by the public, seen as a national hero, nicely spoken etc etc etc

Knocked out all but two of his opponents (one of those being Oliver Mcall).

Stopped his first 16 opponents, the best name up until then being a washed up has been never was.

None of his first 16 opponents went more than 5 rounds

His style was very similar to Joshua.

Tyson ripped him a new hole, twice.

Can you guess who it is?

Berbick came to fight (in hindsight maybe he shouldn't have).

Martin came to suck AJs **** like a crackhead and then get paid.

    Charles Martin was the worst.

Joshua looks to have a speed and accuracy that Bruno rarely had. Whether he'll be as good as Bruno though, I'm not sure.

Joshua might be like a young Wlad. But that means they have to steer him around his Purrity, his Sanders and his Brewster types, and that's a tough task.

Apart from a winning a belt from THE worst title holder of all time.

Joshua's first 16 fights have been no different to Brunos.

    So why all the hype?

What's the difference between a 16 fight Bruno and a 16 fight Joshua?

Bruno had huge hype too. :good

Modern hype is worse though. Joshua's promoter and SKY broadcasters are shameless hypesters.

Yeah, modern hype spreads faster because everyone has the internet.

The other thing is, I think Frank was probably much more honest about who he is. Joshua seems to being manufactured to fit in with the new generation urban trend.

Also, for Joshua, all it would take is 1 Ko to transform him into the next Amir Khan.
