Would things have been different if Cotto fought Pac after he fought Mosley

I'm sure after the fight with Mosley Cotto confidence level was on cloud nine. He just beat Mosley why wouldn't it be? I think if he had fought Pac instead of Cheating Margarito first, the fight between him and Pac would of probably been a lot different with the out come. ESB what's your take on this?

Same outcome but maybe Cotto gets stopped earlier due to his high confidence level.

True and that is exactly why Roach and Arum got the fight when they did and not a fight before. Just like Margarito would have probably done better right after Cotto. Pac likes his meat tenderized.

**** no. Cottoe's always been a flat footed plodder. Even then, maybe he would've fought a PacGwire that hadn't yet tasted one of Ariza's "magical protein shakes".

in less than a year Pac smashed up oscar hatton and cotto all tkoed, a slighly better version of any of them was getting destroyed the fights were such beatings and that speaks much louder imo

Maybe, maybe not.. The Mosley fight showed us Cotto was beatable, and that if you could take what he had and still keep coming you have a very good chance of beating him.. However there ain't many guys who can do that and have the power to make it count..

His confidence may have been better and possibly kept in the fight all night..

Less of Cotto running, making it a better fight...but Cotto gets KTFO.

I agree. I think a 147 pound Cotto circa 2007 does better. The Cotto vs. Mosley fight was a damn good one and gets overlooked sometimes.

I think he would've done better before because he had his uncle who obviously was a good trainer for him. Also at that time he didn't know how to lose so he would've fought way harder trying to win and not just to survive for pride.

    Honestly who know's?
A full fledged Cotto full of confidence might WAR! w/Manny & discourage Pac early...
Post Margarito, Cotto never unleashed with the same ferocity like he did before.

Then again, He seemed gun shy in the Mosley fight aswell.

nah, style's make fights. It is what it is. Look how bad Judah caught him in the early rounds. He's always had a leaky defense.

Pac only became a welterweight in 2008 and 2009.

    So its pointless.

    Pac 130 vs. Cotto 147?

I don't think he would have backpedaled as early as he did.
