Of course it would be a better fight.

I love when people think that a better version of a fighter somehow WOULDNT do better then a worse version of him did

That being said, i hate to say it but i just dont think Cotto has the long term grit to beat Pac. That pains me to say because thats one of my most cherished attributes, and Cotto is one of my fav fighters, but his will can be broken and even at his peak, when the going got tough against a fighter he couldnt hurt he would start to retreat, and with Pacs stamina and all fight aggression, i think its only a matter of time before he starts forcing his will on Cotto and dictating the fight.

I think Cotto would win many of the first rounds, but Pac takes complete control down the stretch.

Pac UD, 7 rounds to 5 in a classic, classic fight.

If Pac is coming up from 130 for this fight, he's probably tentative and Cotto dominates the early action, putting Pacquiao in a big hole causing him to take some chances. Cotto KOs him.

If it's the same Pac that fought Cotto, Cotto gets KTFO in 6 or 7.

I'm assuming we're not talking about Pac of 2007 here right? since he would have been at 130. Because I'm pretty sure Pac would lose that one (although he would be around 144 on fight night)

so 2009 Pac vs 2007 Cotto... it would definitely be a much closer fight, but I still think Cotto would fade down the distance after winning a lot of the 1st half rounds but Pac would just take over once that starts happening. Cotto would probably not have started back pedaling and that would most likely work to Pac's advantage. If Cotto gets knocked down I think Pac finishes him off because Cotto would probably still try to battle it out, but if he doesn't, I'm thinking it would be winnable for Cotto but I'd pick something like 115-113 for Pac.

The Pac we all saw that night of Nov 14 '09 beats any version of Cotto..But he wouldnt beat the '07 Cotto as brutally as he did last year...Pac wins regardless IMO.

Cotto still gets destroyed. People have mistakenly overstated the difference of pre and post Margarito Cotto.
