Would Tito Vs Hearns have been the ultimate "fan friendly" fight?

You have two taller, rangier, all time greats head to head. Both carry dynamite in both hands, and both have shaky chins.

Its going to be explosive, and it almost would certainly end in a knockout. In terms of explosive action, would this fight have the potential to be superior to say, Hagler/Hearns?

I doubt it would have the explosive non-stop action of round 1 in Hagler-Hearns.

Hagler knew he couldn't box at range like usual against a great "out-boxer" like Hearns, so he had to just throw caution to the wind and attack. He had an iron chin.

I can't picture Trinidad doing that.

Tito was a sucker for a straight right hand, and Hearns's straight right hand is one of the best in boxing history. He also had a brilliant left jab. There is the chance that Hearns loses his cool, or Tito's patience pays off as he exploits an opening (left hook) and makes Hearns pay, but I don't think so. I see Hearns outboxing Trinidad and that right hand spelling doom for Tito.

It'd be entertaining enough, but far from the ultimate "fan friendly" fight.

    Examples of that would be:

    Joe Frazier-Rocky Marciano
    Bobby Chacon-Arturo Gatti
    Diego Corrales-Bobby Chacon
    Erik Morales-Bobby Chacon
    Frank Fletcher-James Kirkland

I think Hearns blasts Tito out quick. He's taller longer, and had that dynamite right hand.

I'm probably in the minority but I've always thought Tito could beat Hearns.
Even though Tito was knocked down a lot, he was never really hurt (with the exception of Hopkins).
I think he had a better chin than Tommy and he was an absolutely lethal finisher.
I picture Hearns having early success, moving in for the kill, then getting caught with a left hook.
    Tito by ko in 5.

    Hearns sparks him in 4.

That overhand right hurt Hagler. It also mashed Duran. There is no way Tito holds up after he gets hurt once. If he drops his hands for one second he is dead ****in meat.

Hearns is a much better boxer, so most likely he'll connect first. But if Tito connects on Hearns chin. It's over too.

Yeah... But I think Hearns' chin is a little underrated at 147-154. He wasn't glass-jawed at all.

Tito had power like a motha****a, but not the kinda pop Hearns had, and nowhere near the accuracy, reach, and speed.

I don't think Hearns is glass jawed at all, but Trinidad can hurt him with one punch. And yes no doubt Hearns hit harder.
