He of the two wins over Larry Holmes and a shell of Cooney.. Is he able to beat Morrison?
Spinks Jinx too good or do Morrison s hooks do for the ATG.. At lightheavy?

Spinks was a better fighter than Morrison but I'm basing that off his atg career at light heavyweight. At heavyweight i rate the Duke higher and to win this by knockout in the early rounds.

Spinks stops the Duke late, Morrison's only chance is to try to get his opponent early, but i don't see it happening in this matchup.

I would not be surprised at all if Spinks stopped him

Not Spinks' best weight, but he was still a crafty, capable fighter. The Tyson fight really did him no favours.
I'd be nervous picking Morrison here. Spinks is better overall with fewer weaknesses.
He may well end up stopping Morrison before the final bell.

Morrison should beat him and could beat him if he fights a smart fight .. if he fights a dumb fight he can get caught and his chin is always questionable .. if he is focused he should beat Spinks and stop him somewhere along the way ..

Morrison would bull his way to a KO

Morrison is becoming underrated on here ... Along with Joe Frazier ... Spinks was never a true heavyweight and doesn't beat any heavyweights with A level power ...

This, I've got to say I love Spinks as a fighter. But that's mainly for his reign as light heavy champ. I see a fast, hard hitting, true heavyweight being too much for him.
Morrison s no true great but I see him overpowering Spinks and stopping him early.

Morrison was never rated highly in his day. He's been severely overrated on the internet for years now.

Frazier is an ATG. Different animal entirely.

Spinks is a lottery at heavyweight as his durability is extremely suspect there. He'd have to be on point every second as Morrison could change the bout with one punch. A Spinks decision or a Morrison stoppage. Maybe Morrison is a bit one dimensional and predictable but he'd still only be one good punch away from setting up a finish. Hard one to pick. I'll lean toward the Spinks decision but with little conviction.

Spinks is better and also one-punch away from setting up a stoppage over Morrison.
If Spinks's durability is "extremely suspect", Morrison's is what ?

Morrison has the standard "puncher's chance".
But Spinks is likely to knock Morrison out.

I'm not so convinced Spinks power is all that at heavyweight, far from it. He hit Cooney a million times at the end of their bout and he was still standing and i don't consider him durable.

Even glancing right hands from Holmes were stunning Spinks and he was no big hitter as well as being past prime.

There's every chance Morrison is more durable at heavy.

Your scenario is possible but it's not the first one i would look at first personally.
