Would Tony Thompson be competitive in the 80s ?

    There is a high chance he would beat smith and maybe other fighters because there were very few southpaws back then in comparison to now so fighters didn’t worry about them as much

    He was competitive against an ATG in Wlad the first fight so I can't see why he wouldn't be competitive in the 80s. He was a late starter who picked up a few nice wins. He had an awkward style and gets a little underrated here. He obviously loses to the elites but I could see him beating some of the inconsistent guys or a guy like Berbick who wasnt really great at any particular thing.

    I'd say he has a 60/40 chance of taking a decision from Gary.Mason was strong , tough, and brave but pretty slow and limited.
