Sure Tyson was powerful and explosive. He's also a bully type who can fold and uses excuses. Those who stood up to him, and made it out of the early rounds beat him. Yeah, he read your book, so you'll defend him until the cow's come home. I get it...

Good post and yes mouthpieces do help secure the jaw to take it better

When you look back at his career Tyson was perhaps the all-time best at blowing out 2nd tier competition, but we aren't talking about a 2nd tier guy.

The another thing with Tyson was his best weapon wasn't his hook or right hand it was intimidation. If his opponent wasn't intimidated or actually fought back, Tyson lost his steam and vinegar as the rounds went on. Past round 7 or so Tyson was likely to take his opponent the distance. He was very much a front runner.

Jeffries was an all time durable type, with brute strength, a good slip and duck type of defense and quick feet. He also owned an all time hook to the body or head, and when one of those landed Tyson would have the same body language that he had when the fight started.

So Yes Tyson could do it, but I don't see it.
