How would tyson have reacted to the Ali of Zaire? The ali that rope a doped foreman in Africa, laying back on the ropes and allowing George to punch him self out? How would the tyson of the second holyfield fight have reacted to ali doing this? Carried on punching till he was gassed, quit in his corner or gone as far as he did against holyfield and bit ali?. Remember, ali was the master of mind game s and he would have gotten right in to Mike's no doubt.

Ali of Zaire totally dismantles the Tyson of the second bout with Holyfield. After being dangerous for one or two rounds,Mike starts unravelling and either gets disqualified or stopped by Muhammad after the sixth round or so.

Rope a dope against Tyson? Stand stationary against the ropes offering target practice to Tyson? That would be a dream come true for Tyson! Mid round TKO for Tyson as the refs stops a punch drunk staggering Ali from further brutal punishment.

    Ali would beat Tyson.
1974 Ali would use the grab and hold tactics he used against Frazier, I imagine. Except I doubt Tyson would go the distance.

certainly in Zaire he might melt. Only question is how many ears Ali leaves the ring with.

Tyson would be melting down long before the fight. Think about how mercilessly Ali taunted Frazier leading up to the fight. Frazier was a pretty normal guy with not that much to make fun of and Ali still went off on him endlessly. Tyson's voice/looks/personality/everything would be huge targets for Ali. Tyson would probably bite Ali's ear off at the first press conference.

I'm afraid tyson would lose the battle long before the fight, before the press conference s even. Any body with the slightest weakness, chink in the armour, ali finds it. By the time the fight starts and the people are screaming for tyson s blood he's churning inside. He'll do what he's best at, throw him self at his opponent, but ali may has well be a concrete wall. Nothing tyson can do will affect the outcome of this fight.

Ali out psyched Liston , Foreman and both were bullies. Can't see why Tyson
    be no different.

Tyson has a decent two rounds and then falls apart. Ali by stoppage in 10 in a one sided bout.

No choice. His legs were shot. On that night in Zaire, he didn't even have the legs or stamina to dance and avoid Foreman and Foreman was a guy who looked like he was moving and punching 100ft underwater.

Ali would have tried to move for a round or two before laying back on the ropes and then it would have been punchbag practice for Tyson.

Tyson would beat 1974 Ali. I don't see why not.

Edit: if we're talking about 97 Tyson, i have no idea what he was capable of.

I disagree. Ali's banter would never work against Kid Dynamite from the streets of Brooklyn. If anyone becomes unglued by trash talk it would be Ali, not Tyson. Even Holyfield Revancha Tyson. Oops, that looked awfully similar to "Evan Fields".

Anyways, I think Zaire Ali might would have enough to defeat '97 Tyson. We must remember that this Tyson had been tested against Holyfield some months before and trained like a demon who took the rematch seriously.

The headbutts unglued Tyson, who was reasonable in getting angry but unreasonable with the biting scenario. Would Ali use a similar strategy in headbutting, or would holding and hitting be enough for Tyson to snap?

    Mmmm, Ali W 15...
