PBF already won his era, this is an new era. Guys like Canelo Usyk and others are the top players in it.
Yet you won't name the fighters you think are elite not frauds or manufactured. You're the only fraud here.
Their careers overlapped by more than a couple years and of course Canelo fought Floyd, so I consider them the same era. Otherwise, what year would you consider to be the beginning of a new era? The last day of Floyd's career i.e. Macgregor? That would be August 2017. Floyd fought from 1997-2017. Canelo 2005-2022 and of course fought Floyd. Usyk fought (professionally) 2013-2022.
PBF fought in 3 different decades and was still on top when he left. If the best fighter retires on top then it establishes a new era IMO. 2015 was the end of that era the new one began in 2016.
Right now there's only 3 fighters that could stake a claim to being the best of this generation. Usyk, Loma and Canelo and right now I don't think there's really a clear obvious choice. Some might say Canelo because he's the big PPV star and won titles in 4 divisions but he's had some very close fights. Loma's won titles in 3 weight divisions but the loss to Lopez takes some of the shine off that. Maybe if he beats Lopez in a rematch and then Kambosos he makes a stronger case. Usyk only has titles in 2 divisions but campaigning at heavy means he's fighting much bigger men and that jump up from cruiser the heavyweight is a far harder jump up because of that. If he does beat Fury and becomes undisputed and wins the rematch then he has a very strong case, especially if he retires undefeated. But we don't know what else Loma and Canelo will do. What if Canelo does win a title at cruiserweight? What if Loma after beating Lopez and Kambosos jumps up in weight again and wins another title at a new weight. What if Crawford unifies welterweight beating Spence while doing it and maybe he too moves up in weight again, we all know he cuts a lot of weight. So right now there's no way to know who really will be the best of their era, but Usyk is in the mix for sure and he's my number 1 right now.
Obviously it would depend on what everybody else does (and what else he does) but sounds like a reasonable shout to me, I wouldn't think it unlikely.
If he beats Joshua again and beats Fury, he's in the discussion for the best P4P of this era, including Floyd and Canelo. This guy was the best Cruiserweight in a generation. If he becomes undisputed at HW, print the banner. He's a GOAT candidate.
If he beats joshua again and the fury some people here will have to accept that we will speak about an undisputed cruiser and heavyweight king and Olympic gold medalist with zero losses. Guys that would be certified atg level top 10
He's already there with his accomplishments to date. Beating Joshua again and then Fury would be the icing on his cake. A great ambassador for the sport and a great ATG fighter.
I don't think so. This generations best fighter has yet to be determined. He has only fought in two weight classes. Plus he is not the only undefeated fighter out there. He is an excellent fighter but I don't nothing special in his fight game. He was blessed to in a era where the HW division sucks and cruiser weight was just good. It's a B league era in the upper weight classes.
