It was the only time in boxing history I remember when the cruisers were better than the heavies. And that is objective fact. The cruiser boss (Usyk) just proved it be beating he heavy boss (Joshua). And he had a tougher time with Briedis on top of that.
I can't see how anyone can objectively denounce the achievments of Usyk. The cruiserweight division was stacked and he tore through it....all fights on the road in his opponents backyards. That in of itself was a major accomplishment. To then top it off by dominating the HW Champ British Golden Boy before 60k+ British fans, in only his third fight at HW, was stunning. He absolutely deserves all the accolades he has received. I for one am grateful to have witnessed his run. Beside his boxing skills he is a unique and interesting character. Great for the sport.
After finding out he trains his brain by doing math during sparring sessions, he already is. If it is discovered he is working on his accounting degree, he makes the GOAT list for me.
Why do you think so ? The man wants to conquer his 5th weight class, no ? There is no better path to the highest throne of glory than fighting the undisputed champion of the Cruiserweight himself who also happened to be his rival for top P4P. The fight for the no. 1 P4P crown. The title match of 'greatest boxer of generation'. If Canelo beat Usyk, I'll bow to his greatness.
