Maybe so, but Usyk isn't a super heavyweight. In fact, he's the same height as Ali and weighs pretty much the same.

The Ali that defeated Cleveland Williams so easily would defeat anyone. I think Usyk will have his moments, but Ali would be too
fast to lose. Plus, we all know how much punishment Ali could take. The same punches that hurt Fury would certainly hurt Ali but not to the same level, and that's assuming he reaches Ali's chin.

    UD Ali.

It would be a match where Ali’s footwork would have to be at the top of its game because I think that’s what would be the deciding factor

What do you think about Zhang? Olympic boxer, good technique, has all the punches, and is a southpaw. Not very good stamina, but
otherwise he's no Primo Carnera IMO.The counter right hook that he took out Wilder with was beautiful and planned, not a lucky shot.

Ali would be too rapid he’d TKO Usyk

I think he's the closest thing there would be to a stylistic nightmare for a prime Ali. Ali has never faced a southpaw with Usyk's skills and fundamentals, the only time was Mildenberger and while he won it wasn't a walk in the park. Not to mention Ali has had trouble exploiting the flaws of fundamentally sound fighters with quick handspeed (Doug Jones, Ken Norton), and Usyk has those attributes alongside being a southpaw.

Not saying Ali can't win of course, but all of the signs point to Usyk giving Ali a terribly difficult night.

It was really only the first two rounds in which Ali found Mildenberger awkward. Beyond that Ali pretty much delivered a beatdown, during which time Mildenberger, as Hugh McIlvanney put it: "rarely offered more than persistence and courage".

It was also Ali's fourth Championship bout of '66, having defended the title less than 7 weeks prior, as part of an overseas schedule you just wouldn't see undertaken by any Heavyweight Champion today.

    Nah,

Ali would not be too troubled, I haven't seen anything in Usyk to think otherwise.

Nobody has said Usyk is an all time great.
I've followed boxing for over 60 years.

Not you, maybe but others on this thread have or would. I am an old head too. I am 75 and watched Robinson fight on Gillette Friday Night Fights in my Dad’s lap. I think this is the worse era of heavyweights skill wise I have ever seen.

If its a poor era you would expect middleweights, light heavies and cruiserweights to move up and take over the division. There seems to be plenty of talent in lower divisions so why isn't that happening?

To believe heavyweight sucks you have to believe Ward, Bivol, Beterbiev, Breidis aren't good either which I find pretty hard to believe.

Wasn’t Usyk a cruiserweight? How you came up with the proposition that middleweights and light heavyweights move up to take over the division escapes me and besides, I don’t see atg talent in those divisions any way. You see it differently and that’s okay with me.

I had a debate with someone here recently when they tried to bring up the Mildenberger fight in regards to an Ali vs Usyk fight. For me i don't see how it's a negative for Ali to be honest ? Ali knocked Mildenberger down 3 times won a majority of the rounds and actually stopped Mildenberger. Yeah it took Ali a few rounds to adjust to the Southpaw stance but in the end Ali comprehensively won.

If Usyk now beat a top 10 Heavyweight and floored his opponent 3 times and stopped him, i don't think anyone would see that as a negative because Usyk lost 1 or 2 of the early rounds.
