Would Usyk only fight Lennox Lewis, Herbie Hide, Frank Bruno, Henry Akinwande during the 1990s

Dubois holds the IBF title, and a fight against him could happen at Wembley. If Hrgovic had beaten Dubois and then Joshua, Usyk would have faced him.

 

He only fought Chisora as a stepping stone opponent as he got used to being a heavyweight, then fought AJ for the title so he certainly would have fought Lewis because he was champ but I don`t he would have bothered with Hide while he was WBO champ, he fought Fury to decide who was the best heavy in the world so again the only Brit from your list that matches that is Lewis, he fought Dubois because he wa the mandatory contender, none of the fighters you list were ever a no.1 contender except Lewis.

 

And he only fought Dubois before because Dubois was the IBF no.1 contender at the time.

 

None of the current heavyweights can match the live attendence that a fight vs AJ, Fury or Dubois will bring and the PPV money will be good from the UK market too, Warren and Hearn and two of the world`s biggest promotors, that`s where the money is.

 

He only fights back to back British heavyweights because Britain have the most top HW's currently, British heavyweights dominate the HW division apart from Usyk being number 1 and the Daddy of them all of course. 7 out of the top 14 HW's on boxrec are Brits. And Britain has been the home of big heavyweight fights in recent years.

If Usyk was here in the 80's or 90's he'd have been facing back to to back American HW's. And If he'd have been here around 2007 to 2013 he'd have been facing fellow ex soviet union HW's.

Don't get why you have a problem with the obvious, he faced Joshua and Fury cause they were the champs, he's facing Dubois cause he's the champ now, and because he was his mandatory challenger in the first fight.

Fury or AJ are bigger money fights for Usyk, he`s looking for a couple of retirement fights, his fight vs Dubois will be at Wembley capacity 90,000, Parker and Kabayel simply can`t match that, boxing is just so popular in the UK right now, that`s where the money is.

 

He's the best British champ in history now lol
