if any of you have any respect......you should now mention his name ...EVER!!! it is not worthy for the fine art of boxing. of many things boxing is about discipline and courage. he was coward enough to take his own life and not pay for his crime !!! his name should not even been kept in the record books !

This always happen when a young talent dies - the 'ifs' get replaced by absurd myth making - see Kurt Cobain, Tupac, Reggie Lewis, etc.

He never even faced a top 5 140 er let alone an ATG like Pac. What is next? He walks on water?

its pathetic but i know most boxing fans here will remember valero slightly as an explosive fighter but as a murderer at the most. Not that taking away all his accomplishments and actually im a fan before, but man the guy just keeps on beating his wife and then finally killed her and then go hang himself. what a joke! And all of this happens as he started to become famous and being compared to pac.

But for this thread its the other way around, Pac would have smashed valero, i mean just a total shut out. The guy has only a few worthy opponents maybe 2 or 3? pac would have beaten valero to a pulp if they ever fight.

To Ed's credit he was a legit TALENT! He had all the promise and ability to be a great...unfortunately his demons were too great and destroyed his life and his wifes. Very sad but his legacy will be a tad higher b/c of his untimely death and fans will over exaggerate his accomplishments and potential.

Like saying he'd beat Manny.. Seriously? That's like some fans of Mannys saying he's better than Robinson.

Pacquiao would have obliterated Valero, and fast. Pac of 2003 vs Valero would have been a good tear-up, but Pac of these days is just light years of Valero in every way. If Pac can pick apart a boxer of the size and calibre of Miguel Cotto, what would he have done to a lightweight like Valero?

    Brutalized him.
