Mid 00-10 was a barren division.

Alot of journeyman types, old 90s fighters, talentless hype jobs.

    You had the Klitchkos
    Later Povetkin fitted into 3
Byrd, Ibragimov, Chaghaev, Valuev, Peter etc

You probably an aging Ruiz, A shot Holyfield in there and Fat Toney in there aswell

Haye and Pulev moving into their prime post 2010

Pass the bong. Valuev is one of the worst boxers in the history of the sport.

    1) He wouldn't have to, because he actually used to fight, whereas a lot of these guys just sit on their ratings. He would push them out without fighting them.

    2) Top ten means a lot more than ten, because there are four organizations. He'd find a spot in one or more.

He would be a top ten and nobody would stop him.

BUT, I get what you are saying.

Valuev was awful boxer, really awful. Extremely slow and with very poor skills.

But with good careful management while avoiding the most dangerous opponents - who knows? Hell, even today's verison of Don King in his 90s could have pushed him high in rankings.

Yes of course he would I could definitely see him beating Zhang and Wilder based on their last performances they didn't throw any punches!!!!!

This Heavyweight era is not that good despite people claiming it is.

Its better than Valuevs era though.

Aging Ruiz would float around the top 20, Larry Donald around the same, crafty boxer but lakced power and agression, Liakovich top 20.

    Valuevs best wins i suppose.

Fighters id put in the Top 10 of that Era that is mid to 2010. Would be Chaghaev, Ibragimov, Povetkin.

Valuev would absolutely have been top ten. This era is dire. 0-0-0 boxers waltz in from under the local bridge and send the 'lineal champion' to the canvas like it was nothing. I agree with all of Valuev's shortcomings btw. He was almost as slow as Old Foreman and had underwhelming power for his size. That said, he did have size and plenty of it together with all the advantages that entails. He had a decent jab, good accuracy and a good enough chopping attack to flatline a bunch of guys.

No Valuevs Era was dire, a 48year Holyfield does not compete in this era. If we put Valuev infront of Dubois or Sanchez then fair enough.

You do not want what Markus is using. Probably a mix of stems, seeds and sewage.

Zhang stops Valuev and thats based on his performance vs Parker, when did Valuev face a man that size and that can hit that hard.
Did he face a decent SHW?

Wilder is getting further pushed down the rankings but the one from the Fury fights beats Valuev.
